no, we'll have commercial mass market space travel within 5 years, the problem is that Virgin Galactic won't. Virgin Galactic is incapable of space travel.

There's two components to "space travel". Getting into space, which means going above 100km altitude. That's easy, I commute farther than that. The hard part is orbital velocity. In order to STAY in space for more than a minute or two before gravity pulls you down, you need to go fast enough sideways to continuously miss the Earth. That's 7.4 kilometers per second.

Virgin Galactic can't even do the 100km up part.

No, you're the idiot. Virgin Galactic is physically incapable of reaching any orbit, from any launch site, with any payload. What Virgin Galactic offers is a brief experience of zero gravity at an altitude of 50 miles. You can do that in a souped up MiG 25 for ten grand.

What SpaceX offers is a vehicle capable of putting 150 tons of whatever you want into LEO, and being fully reusable. Whether that's 150 tons of tourists, 150 tons of water, or 150 tons of space hentai doesn't matter to SpaceX.

Blue Origin is also incapable of reaching orbit right now, but they're building New Glenn and New Armstrong so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Virgin Galactic cannot get to space. They also can't stay in "almost space" long enough to shoot a porno. The first porn in space will be shot on Starship, or on a private space hotel. Which SPCE cannot reach.

Consider that SpaceX has already signed up at least one mad billionaire for a tourist flight around the far side of the Moon.

Because I actually follow this closely enough to realize VG is an investor scam and nothing more.

>VG is still in testing phases too
And has been since 2007.

>And is directed at a completely different market
Because they are physically incapable of actually servicing the real space economy market, so they're trying to make up a new one. But that space is already crowded with companies like ZeroG, that offer the exact same experience on a shitty 727.

>And at this point, it's the only company that you can invest in.
Non-argument. Virgin Galactic does not have a business case that survives contact with Starship, and shareholders will be wiped out. SPCE is not a valid "exposure to the space market" play because THEY CANNOT ACTUALLY REACH SPACE.

If you said that in 2016 and Virgin actually managed to fly in 2016 with passengers, I'd agree! But now it's 2020. Starship exists and will fly passengers by 2023. Branson will have maybe two years, at best, of offering his service without competition from an utterly paradigm shifting competitor.

Yeah, it's kinda funny how little progress Bezos had made.

Yes.

Let's do a little timeline example.

Virgin Galactic's SpaceShip One first flew in 2004.

Falcon 1 first flew in 2006.

Falcon 9 first flew in 2010.

New Shepard first flew in 2015.

Starship first flew in 2020.

In the last 14 months, Starship has gone from a quarter inch steel boilerplate test vehicle to a full scale flightworthy prototype.

14 months ago, Boeing was promising SLS would be "tested soon", that test is currently scheduled for Q1/2021, lmfao Boeing.

The point here is that Virgin has spent more time in development than SpaceX has. In that time, Virgin made a slightly larger version of their first rocket. SpaceX has developed and flown Falcon 1, Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and now Starship.

And you really, actually think Virgin can catch up? Maybe by 2200.

I think Virgin Galactic doesn't have the skill or speed to produce a product to compete with Starship, and Starship completely eats SS2's lunch in every way. Starship is better in SS2's market than SS2 is, even before you consider that Starship has WAY more markets open to it.

This is what makes me so mad about Virgin. They AREN'T A VALID EXPOSURE TO THOSE OPPORTUNITIES. They can't launch satellites, shuttle tourists to a private space station, they can't resupply the ISS, they can't do ANYTHING interesting with SS2. And since it took them over a decade to build it, I don't see them pulling anything new out of their ass.

>reduce launch costs by multiple orders of magnitude
>yeet hundreds of full sized satellites at a time to fund development
Now, this wouldn't actually work initially, because Starship can launch more satellites in one go than currently launch in a year. So there's a genius little piece of magic in here.
>use Starship's ultra cheap launch costs to yeet THOUSANDS of Starlink satellites for pennies a piece

>When the president asked Biden if he would close down the oil industry, the former vice president responded: “I would transition from the oil industry, yes.” He added that the oil industry “pollutes significantly.”
>“It has to be replaced by renewable energy over time, over time,” Biden said, also noting that he would stop giving federal subsidies to the oil industry.

blam blam shooty stocks were bearish this week and I think they're worthwhile to consider at these levels for a short term trade. Ruger has earnings coming up on the 28th. Aside from the colloquial data of gun shops saying demand remains very high and brands putting notices on their own websites saying they're working as hard as they can to meet demand pls be patient, there is one additional source of data to look at: NICS firearm background checks for purchase.
https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/nics_firearm_checks_-_month_year.pdf/view

June/July was the big spike. Numbers gradually tapering off since then but still well above previous year. Year over year percentage increase by month (sept 2019 vs sept 2020 etc.):

personally i only like a few picks out of SOXX so i don't buy the ETF itself
don't wanna be exposed to cyclical companies like MU. Nothing against Micron, they're fundamentally great but they can't do anything about being a cyclical company who cannot react to fluctuating demand fast

AMD and NVDA being exceptions since they're fabless. TSM being an exception because they're at the bleeding edge and everyone is fighting to book orders with them
at that point I already have 3 picks and that's my semiconductor exposure already (prefer AMD over NVDA because AMD has much more explosive growth though)

You should be more concerned about the theta decay on your calls devaluing them rather than it dipping. You don't get trend lines like you do on GME where it's literally a solid line of support upwards unless everyone is holding (not selling) out for the squeeze. People might sell at that price point but that's cutting themselves out of a ton of profit. 20 to 25 is the expected range for GME, not the short squeeze range.

they're not, none of them are. standard deviation channel is though, but keltner channels and the rest are not repainting i guarantee you.

Yeah I also have a few leap calls on TSM. Down at the moment, but they're good through 2022 and only $85 strike. Hoping to eventually use the profits and roll them into either shares or more leaps.

look at pic related

if you dont give a shit about missing out on a potential +30% spike out of nowhere from news, GME is probably the easiest shit to scalp for the last few weeks, all intraday trading too

Don't know the other.
