Taking the ball out would change the probability of getting the golden ball in the second attempt. If you grab it from the second box silver and gold your Chances are now absolute 1/3. But if you grab the the first gold gold box you’re guaranteed a gold if you choose from the first again. It’s only 50/50 if you chose from the 2nd box

Before I go to bed I'm gonna give the solution to the problem so we don't need to have this thread again.

Call the balls in the first two boxes Gold1, Gold2, Gold3 and Silver1.
The other stuff we don't care about, it has no impact.

You have a gold ball in your hand it's either;
Gold 1, and you find yourself another gold ball.
Gold 2, and you fnd yourself another gold ball
Gold 3, and you find yourself a silver ball.
So the answer is 2 / 3.

This is a seemingly easy problem but it's actually university math.

At the moment in question there exists only only one ball in your box. The first was gold, the next may be gold or silver. You do not have an option of switching boxes, nor is there an observer who knows the contents of the box -- therefore the weight of any previous probability is nullified. Saying it is 2/3 would be like flipping two coins and saying the second coin is more likely to be tails because the first one was heads.
