Has anyone managed to make a decent/stable career out of working for 2-3 years, then quitting and doing nothing for 4-6 months, then starting somewhere else? I’m always afraid if I just quit I’ll never find work again, but then I just stick around while burned out and wind up burning bridges.

you quit after you have a new job, retard

I'm currently trying this out now. Though to be fair I'm very close to making it already due to gains from the 2016/2017 bull run so I'm just kind of waiting to get pushed over the finish line this cycle.

My advice, just do something productive with your time so you have something to say about your time not working. Maybe volunteer or learn a new skill so you don't look like you are just lazy.

Yeah duh but I want a massive gap to do fuck all between jobs and there’s no way to negotiate a start date that far off.

Best of luck.
Yeah I’m not too worried about that; I always say I want to sleep for two months straight but three days into a week vacation I started building a database.

Whenever I leave my current job I'll need at least 2-3 months off before starting something else. Hoping to make it before then.

easy, open a cheap offshore company to sell your non-existant services
it's nice to fill the gaps and it's legit
you can always say it failed after 1 year and a half, but trust me, 1 year and a half with your own business is worth more than 1 year and a half wage cuckin
plus you can use the offshore company to park money, assets, defer taxation, or use it occasionally to sell services as well.

30k linkie here

Next week I will be giving my 2 weeks. I plan on working on an indie game idea that I've had for a long time for the next 2-3 years. I'll be with my parents so I won't have to pay rent during that time.

If I don't make it with link or my game than at least I have something to show for those years. I consider it a career break to work on a long time personal goal.

Wish me luck

It works at your 20s
Then you hit 30yo and HR starts bitching about your "age" and your CV "gaps" and call you "mercenary"
