$SFM Sprouts Farmer Market

I don't do a lot of DD on here but there's been a lack of any good plays the past few days so I'm going to try to give back since I've got some pretty good ideas from here.

(Got this data from finbox, gonna plug bc I love it and never see it mentioned here)

$2.5b Marketcap vs. $6b revenue YTD & $436m EBITDA. 32% upside based on average of 5 models (5/10y DCF EBITDA, P/E multiples, EBITDA multiples, Revenue multiples) Analyst average price target is also 30% upside. Price target is $27.29 for the models, $27 for analyst average. The high from the models is $31, the analyst high is $39. Current price is only $20.85)

Perfect Piotroski Score of 9

Strong growth the last 3 years (Revenue: 2018 $5.2b < 2019 $5.8b < 2020 $6.1b)

Earnings in exactly 1 week. They beat 5 times in a row until the last earnings. The last 2 beats were followed by 13% and 10% gains the next day. Get ready my dudes. Short term will make gains but I'm spread all the way until 2023 and will sell calls against those for premium but not until after earnings to capitalize on IV and higher price.

AMD could hit $100 by EOY. If what they're saying about this Big Navi shit is legit then they will (for the first time for as long as I can remember) be contending with NVDA cards for tip top flagship specs.
As far back as I can remember AMD has dominated the value for money space in the market and let NVDA make the Gucci cards, making business by undercutting them in the middling spec options. If this AMD launch is as legit as they say it is then they'll be in the market at the same level as NVDA and legitimately competing on the same level with them in terms of spec. It's fucking yuge. probably dont want to pump the stock price further before they can use up the remainder of their share buybacks. They also can't use up those share buyback authorization this year because of covid uncertainty (what if Biden wins and does a 2nd lockdown) and March 2021 bonds coming up soon, never mind that they only had so much cash in the first place because they cut down inventory hard in preparation for the new console cycle

Haven't looked deeply into it. It's a SPAC for Momentus, right?

I would analyze any new space stock through the lens of how they'll benefit from launch costs dropping by several orders of magnitude. Satellite companies that can scale production up quickly might do very well for themselves. Momentus actually seems like a decent concept, you could deploy hundreds of their little space tugs from a Starship. Similar to RocketLab's Photon.

The PS4 lauch didn't do much for them as it was a really weak cycle. They didn't sell more consoles after the PS4 launch than they did before. Consoles are thin margin. They don't earn much there. The shit they sell with the consoles are much more important and that product group has never been as enormous as it will be with the coming consoles. Game size is outgrowing hard drive size and console memory extensions are ridiculously expensive. => disk sales. Their used hardware business will grow because old consoles will be turned in. They're also participating in digital sales because of the Microsoft partnership. Sony and Nintendo partnerships probably incoming too. They also cut a lot of sg&a cost. It doesn't sound like much but it really is. They're also selling computer shit now.

Let's put this in very simple terms. Virgin Galactic has spent almost two decades building a rocket that cannot get to space. Orbit is an order of magnitude harder than space. Orbit means going higher than anything Virgin Galactic has ever built, and then going an ADDITIONAL 7 KILOMETERS PER SECOND sideways.

Virgin Galactic is not a competitor to SpaceX any more than the Wright Flyer is a competitor to a 747. It's not even in the universe. Virgin Galactic is doomed and pointless because they CANNOT MEANINGFULLY PARTICIPATE IN THE SPACE ECONOMY.

You come right the fuck back down. Like Virgin Galactic's amusement park ride. Without a velocity multiple orders of magnitude higher than Virgin Galactic can achieve, you cannot stay in space, you cannot reach orbit, you cannot deploy a useful payload, and you cannot dock with anything in space.

If all you want is a rollercoaster for rich boomers that spends five minutes near-but-not-in space, then sure, velocity is irrelevant. If you want to meaningfully participate in the space economy, that velocity is the only thing that matters.

I don't plan on selling below 92 to be honest. It was there end of Aug with their Q2 results, all of the INTC shit going on, and bullishness associated with TSM.
If their GPU launch is as good as expectations then it'll change the market presence of AMD to an almost unprecedented degree for the business. I think $100 is perfectly achievable before EOY, but personally would settle for selling at 95. It'll smash through it's previous ATH though.
Elections are obviously a risk and I think the two candidates are now in a closer race than before, which doesn't bode well for stocks in general. Personally I don't have issues with holding my positions and staying tied up through dips though, I'm fully confident in companies like AMD and NVDA.

The reason why going up is hard is because of gravity pulling the rocket down.
Sideways component has no such problem. You can reach any sideways velocity (ignoring speeds approaching speed of light) with relative ease since literally any applied force results in acceleration, and there's no opposing force to cause deceleration.
So orbital velocity is really unimportant. Orbit is full of satelites - there's nothing impressive about their orbital speed, the only impressive part is getting them up there.

It makes sense that the only people who think SPCE is a good play lack even an elementary understanding of orbital mechanics.

It takes approximately 9400m/s of dV (change in velocity) to reach orbit. Orbital speed is approximately 7400m/s. Which means of the power required to reach orbit, 2000m/s-ish of that is spent on gravity losses and air drag. The VAST MAJORITY of the energy required to reach orbit is that "going sideways" part.

You cannot though, because you only have a minute or two before your rocket falls down again. Try reaching 7800 m/s sideways velocity in those two minutes, and your rocket breaks apart from the G forces.

You seem to think of space as some magical place where the gravitational force doesn't exist. In fact it's only marginal less in space than on the ground, and the only way to stay in space is to go sideways faster than you fall down, i.e. orbiting.

You are a stupid nigger who thinks he knows way, way more than he does. Sit and be educated.

Rockets are governed by Tsiolkovsky's rocket equation. Pic related. Δv is literally change (delta) in velocity (v). The unit is m/s. That's because it reflects the possible change from the current velocity the rocket is capable of, in meters per second. So for example, if you're travelling at a leisurely 7400m/s, and have 2000m/s dV left over, you can accelerate to 9400m/s by accelerating prograde, 5400m/s by accelerating retrograde, or you can change your inclination by a certain amount, etc.

An object in low earth orbit must move at a speed of approximately 7400m/s. There is no cheaper orbit. That's an equatorial low orbit. The speeds required for any other orbit is higher.

SpaceShip Two is capable of maybe 1500m/s of dV. Get fucked.

Caveat: higher orbits are actually slower, but they require more dV to actually get there. For example, a geosynchronous orbit is 3138m/s, but you need a dV from the surface of approximately 13,310m/s to get there. Again, pic related.
