>Create decent fighting game that requires a small amount of crypto to play each round (practice mode is free, playing against real players costs money)
>Unranked play would just like a $1 per round and if you win you get the person you defeated dollar as well are your own dollar back (mostly a small fee would be taken off the top to go into my bank UwU).

The game needs to play well enough that it is fun and addicting to play so people will get hocked on playing it to win money in online tournements.

The higher you rank up in the ranked system the more money you can bet on individual matchs.

Imagine being able to bet $1000 USD on a online match and if you win you get double the amount. Also imagine if you can make speculative bets on the results of pro matches with other observers?

Do you think this idea could work in the future? Would you pay a dollar to win two dollars in a fighting game?

better yet, a spectator mode that allows others to bet on money matches

Sounds smart, but most fighting games are broken

people would just hack the shit out of your stupid game

also you're in for some serious legal papers if you think implementing a financial aspect like that is that easy

I'm sure this idea could be extended to shitty mobas like League or even competitive shooters like counter-strike.

Hell could you imagine how crazy a starcraft like game would be in Asia if people could actually MAKE money playing it simply by winning more then you lose?

Wouldn't it just be fine to use bitcoin or ETH as the main game currency? Just like if you want to trade on bitmex you need to deposit BTC if you want to play the game and go against other players you need to deposit btc.

the vital part is the game itself.
the moment there is a hack or game break no one will play

betting on other people's matches in "spectator mode" is a bad idea, and could lead to corruption. Better stick to only letting the people playing bet money.

I reckon we need this in games in the future.
The main problems currently are gambling laws in most countries.

There's barely players on fighting games that isn't Smash Bros what makes you think you'll get a decent playerbase on a game that punishes casuals financially? At best you'll get 8 autists basically swapping their money at each other every 4 matches. Is that profitable?

Can already be done in any fighting (or online game for that matter) that has a results api. Through smart contracts. You'd just need something to adapt that data to make it readable for the SC, and then bring that outside data onto the blockchain...how you'd do that is anyone's guess.
