Pretty sure he's doing okay. He's in it for the long haul anyways. He gets it. People here really think some altcoin is going to overtake Bitcoin, it's honestly a miracle. Not saying there won't be huge profits to be made elsewhere, but 5 years from now we'll see what's what. 10, 20 years, and anyone in this thread invested in Bitcoin will be rich.

Yeah maybe he should have just bought his stock back like all the other greedy CEO's that don't do shit, don't innovate, don't invest back into their R&D, future, employees. Do any of the most successful companies have to pay out dividends? No. Why? Because they don't need to! Their company speaks for itself.

>hail mary btc position and if owners didn't like it, too bad

No, you obviously didn't listen to the interviews so I'm not going to argue with you. Listen to the interviews he covers every little piece of FUD you can think of and some you can't. I don't want to spoonfeed. And the shareholders were given warning and time. And the stock is up so it's a moot point. The interviews are fascinating. Take a listen.

Look up the dividend pay outs by %.
SPY pays 10%/yr + a little dividend.

Investing in a bunch of dividend stocks for passive income is inept. You invest because you believe in the company. Name me some dividend stocks that collectively pay out dividends and perform well to beat out SPY. What you'll find are a few companies and little pockets in time.

If a company is cutting edge and profitable it doesn't need to pay a dividend. There's no point. And if it starts paying a dividend the share price corrects for the dividend. It doesn't fucking matter, it's just an incentive for mostly unsophisticated investors to hold long term.

And stock buybacks lead to a gross discrepancy between a companies stock price and value. They also lead to a gross discrepancy in the wealth gap because the major shareholders aren't (you), the key figures are disproportionately rewarded and dump on your head. It bloats and distorts and worst of all it takes economic energy out of the company.

It's bad philosophically. A company shouldn't focus on its share price. It should focus on itself. This is very underrated.

Okay, all of my points seemed to have whooshed over your head. Keep doing research into stocks. Look a bit deeper than CNBC. You'll find that the most successful investors don't ever even mention dividends.

As for yield and all that, you have to understand that the money has to come from somewhere. Sustainability. That's why DeFi exploded and then imploded. I'd agree there are lucrative projects in the space, but that's another subject.

If you are the type of investor that worries about dividends, then own it. Good luck. I'll be retired at 43 so don't worry about me.

What are you even buying a company for, if not a dividend? Just that someone will buy it for more than you did, who will also not get a dividend? This is one of the problems with the stock market today; it's a popularity contest instead of buying profitable companies that provide returns. If I own a share of a company, I expect to get a share of the profits. Of course I want them to reinvest in growth, but at some point, they need to start paying the owners.

Yes, this is how the stock market works. The stock market is many things, but one of those things is a future predictor. A judgement call on future profitability.
