Sigh, it's not necessarily only about disputes and arguments. It's generalizable to the point where all types of data that arent exact, up for interpretation, ie. subjective information. Think Chainlink for exact measurements like prices, weather data, account balances, delivery statuses and so forth. All of them quantifiable and exact. Kleros on the other hand is for information like, does this token adhere to the specifications set in this framework? And answering that type of question requires expertise and knowledge that isnt automatable in the same way

Also people are paying for and using it today, just check the explorers

Each contract is different depending on the need. I could make a contract with Jamal to paint my garage before the end of the month. We both agree if there's a dispute we take it to kleros. We both put in some money, and the garage isn't painted by the end of the month. Here’s a solution: FUCKING YELP. RATINGS, FEEDBACK SCORES, ETC.

>> No.23279202

>>23278986
heres the problem. What happens when 90% of cases have answers that are obvious? Everyone and their dog jumps in. Why is this a problem? Many people who think they are experts but actually don't know shit will jump in as well. Dunning kruger. What does that mean when you have the odd case that isn't so obvious, or where the fair solution goes against the common sense observation? The actual experts, who are now out numbered by Dunning krugers, lose money for giving a fair ruling, and the case goes the wrong way.

As a result experts will never participate in this sort of system. Not only do they stand to make more by participating in systems that put up barriers for non-experts, they don't risk losing money for giving their actual expert opinion. So what you're left with is a court system populated almost entirely with dunning-krugers and gamblers, and where decisions are heavily influenced by the types of people who use uniswap.

By the way, this is why companies pay SMEs six figs to sit around doing nothing 6 months out of the year, instead of paying a few dozen subway sandwich artists minimum wage to vote on things. The advantage of consulting experts, and ONLY experts outweighs the cost savings that come with letting nobodies make decisions for you.

>you're paying money to make sure there's a quick and correct ruling if there's a dispute. Jamal gets his money back if he paints the fence on time.
I understand how the system works. How do you think Jamal sees it, though?

there will definitely be scenarios where experts are cucked by retards, but in the long run economic incentives fixes that. If you appeal a case ruined by normies you could give more evidence to point out whatever flaw the normies aren't grasping

There are many cases that don't require experts, so if there are some types of cases Kleros where isn't effective that doesn't make the system worthless. There are ways to counter that problem too.

Like in Linguo, which uses Kleros for translations.
>"After the translated text is submitted, there is a review period. During this time, anyone (including yourself) can look for potential flaws in the translation and raise a challenge."

>If a translation is challenged, a case is created in a specialized Kleros court which decides whether or not the translation fulfills the requirements. If the challenger wins the case, the translator loses the initial deposit, which is then sent to the challenger as a reward for her or his work."

The more technical the court, the higher the required stake. You really think a normalfag is going to risk 4 ETH to be a juror on a case involving a smart contract when they can't even read solidity? And regarding truly, truly complicated subjects, there's already research into trustless decentralized proof of humanity. Once that's established, you can prove you have expertise in X field, yet still remain anonymous and the project itself is still decentralized.

I am unironically a SME in my field of marketing, copywriting, paid traffic etc. I know more than 99.999% of people including people with $250k advertising degrees. Here’s my take:

The core idea of decentralizing DR is very promising. There are however flaws with some use cases, but that doesn’t invalidate the core premise, in fact it strengthens it. I think the problem most anons ITT have is that they are conflating ALL possible use cases with each other. I will agree that not every use case is perfect.

You need to realize that not every industry has the same needs. Take LINK for example. There are use cases where centralized oracles make way more sense than decentralized oracles. That doesn’t invalidate the whole project though. LINK is without peer in their specific use cases they are targeting (insurance, finance, data, medical, legal etc).

Kleros is the same way. Just because it might not work for some industries doesn’t mean it won’t for others. Amazon and EBay are literally paying salary + benefits to tens of thousands of people to sit around and issue refunds to people for stupid returns. They would jump at a chance to cut those costs.

Another example, I entered a business contract with an Indian sociopath a couple years ago. I always to get paid X to deliver Y marketing results. We went above and beyond, and deliver 10X what was expected. He turned around and basically used some technical loophole to refuse to pay me and threatened with legal action. If those funds had been locked up in a smart contract with Kleros as arbitration mechanism, I would have a large sum of money today that I don’t have. This use case is so strong to me personally that I would have paid thousands to leverage it. So not every industry is equal. This isn’t work for some industries, but the ones it does work for will be transformed.

Beyond that, the people involved in the dispute don't even need to know that Kleros fucking exists. A site like Fiverr could allow people to deposit money for "insurance" (ie. Kleros arbitration), and require freelancers to have a deposit in order to work. The client gets shit work, and raises a dispute. Fiverr automatically converts fiat to ETH for fees. Add a UI on the site for submitting evidence and have the case resolved on Kleros. There, they don't even need to know cryptocurrency at all.

PNK is in the immediate term more useful, because it solves an oracle problem which is faced by the real world today. LINK solves a potential problem in the future, being how to trust decentralised oracles that rely on centralised nodes, and currently there is no need to not just use the data feeds directly from the (centralised) nodes without bypassing link.

PNK should arguably be worth more than link, but nobody knows about it yet. and anyone not packing their bags is going to be pink wojacking hard in a few years.

Just a reminder for potential investors: Kleros Devs are huge SJW types who have let their subjective political and moral agenda influence the protocol
It was a good idea, and I don't fault you for falling for it. But the Kleros implementation is unironically evil.
Take a look at the guidelines for their court.
>JURORS SHOULD NOT RULE IN FAVOR OF A SIDE WHO HAVE ENGAGED IN IMMORAL ACTIVITIES
Notice that it does not specify where or when these immoral (as decided by the SJW devs who believe they are the supreme arbiters of objective truth) activities had to have taken place?
I wonder if there are people around who will view posting on 4chan as immoral, or having committed the 'sin' of being a man, heterosexual and/or White.
They can and will use this to selectively, punish White claimants and enrich PoC and Jews.
I will now address some of the common shilling that is posted in response to it.
>th-they meant illegal not immoral
If they meant illegal they would have said illegal. They did not. They said immoral because they meant immoral.
>b-but it's j-just vaguely written
Okay, lets ignore all the evidence to the contrary and assume you're correct and this won't be used as yet another weapon against Humanity. Do you really want to invest in a 'court' (for that is what they call themselves) who cannot even craft clear guidelines that aren't made to be abused?
If that's the best case scenario then you need to reconsider your 'investment'.

>> No.23283947

>>23283797
Those are guidelines though right? The protocol is still neutral. If a dispute arises to determine what is moral, the jurors still make the final call.

Real life courts base their rulings on morality as well.

Judges/juries let some people that break the law to go unpunished due to circumstances of the crime.

Morality is a social construct, and law is a construct based on morality, not the other way around.
