Most likely the devs use sockpuppets/bots to purchase their own tokens, making it seem like there is more interest. Some people are just chronic gamblers and then get mad when they lose. Possibly they thought it wouldn't rug instantly, but be like FEEL (some pre-salers got out with a 3x while everyone else got rugged) or other tokens that didn't instantly rug. Others are naive and thought that since it's not a food token or a meme token or a y clone it would be their chance to get in on videogame tokens (new market). In any case I've invested in TEAM finance (plz no rug) and will probably invest in UTK too because crypto actually has a massive need/usecase for tokens/sites which ensure that rugs can't happen.

In any case there should be some kind of "basic rules of /biz/" where if the liquidity isn't unicrypted, you shouldn't buy that shit.

gambler, i'm up 100's of thousands(also paper down as much) so no biggie, lost 1 eth(i paid $7 for) on a scam, I spent way more than 1 eth on gas during defi stupidity and lost way more on "legit" projects, realizing its all degenerate gambling. It was a half decent reminder though to pay a little attention.
