Alright, I know mamy of you who are in GME think that the Blockbuster FUD is stupid. I do agree with that, because it is clear that GME is very unlikely to go bankrupt in the short to middle term. But there are real headwinds - covid reducing store footprint, stronger digital ecosystems convincing disk consumers to switch, and poor brand reputation. Cohen is a good entrepreneur, but his involvement with GME is limited to the role of an advisor for now (why has he not gone over 10% if he is in this long term?). The short squeeze will only happen when the bear thesis is proven wrong with the prospect of sustainable profits. Having profits for one quarter following new console releases is not enough if it cannot be sustained - just look at RKT, where share price plummeted after an earnings beat. If you are betting on a squeeze, you are betting on the company being able to pivot. Without that happening there will not be a squeeze because shorts will still believe that fundamentally GME is going down. Remember, these institutions are not paying retail borrow rates on their shorts.
