Why aren't you spending your friday night in comfy VRchat hanging out on top of a high rise?

>> No.23168199

I'm a neet with no friends and social anxiety that bought a vive to play games like this to make my day a little more interesting. The reality is that I have anxiety in VR exactly like in real life. all the loud well socialised americans laugh and joke to each other at a fast pace and I legit can't say a word, I'm too nervous. Also, most people on that game are teenagers so there's no point using it as a social outlet anyway.

>Bob Page: Is everything in place?

>Zhao Yun Ru: Almost.

>Bob Page: What do you mean, 'almost'?

>Zhao Yun Ru: I have spoken with Montreal, The broadcast satellites are ours when we need them. A few weeks of discomfort, and the public will be primed for our recall.

>Bob Page: And the clinics?

>Lucius DeBeers: We control their purse strings. They will do as we say.

>Stanton Dowd: I still think we should wait for the referendum.

>William Taggart: We can't afford to wait, America's Science Board convenes next month.

>Stanton Dowd: But the mood amongst the delegates is shifting! I'm positive that, given more time--

>Bob Page: No. By going public with this discovery, Sarif is forcing our hand.

>Hugh Darrow: The world will not change overnight, just because David Sarif wills it. Besides, we can do nothing until our biochip is ready.

My dopamine receptors are fried and I gain zero pleasure from anything except link increasing in value.

I think that price point limits you to the windows mixed reality headset (WMR). You should have a card like 1070 or above already to run games decently. You could also maybe get an oculus quest which can run standalone if your graphics card is too weak - you can get a link cable for it to connect to your gpu to run more demanding games like alyx.

alright thanks man. i do in fact have a 1070. i notice there's whatever an oculus rift s is, on ebay now for 260. does this gud?

>> No.23169433

>>23168487
Yeah could give that a go just make sure it has all the stuff you'd need like controllers etc included for that price. Also note that if you go for oculus you might at some point in the future need a facebook account to log in. If you do get it then I hear beat sabre and lone echo are good games, maybe star wars squadrons but it has performance issues atm, new medal of honor game coming out soon, pavlov vr.

For VR racing games are the best. Ive got a samsung O+ and run f1 2019 on it and use an xbox controller. Its mindblowing.

Expect to spend at least 1k on a setup- VR is pretty OKAY over all- However, for FPS- Its fucking game changing. I shoot PRC/PR comps all the time and no shit, VR shoothouses will make you a better shooter. From weapon handling to clearing/scanning, It really is a great tool for this... and this is where the future of VR is, "On the job" training/schooling done from home in a VR environment that can simulate everything from pipe-fitting to surgery.

With that said, consumer sense its very new in this aspect- But i fully expect shit like >>23168165 to become increasingly normal in the future with the push from facebook to break into this worldspace- coupled with the fact that we are in a stay at home "pandemic" and the rise of craptocurrency to usher in a entirely new marketplace- Find way to capitalize on this opportunity now

If you have a decent PC get a rift s even with the Facebook bullshit it's the best headset for the money I've heard the quest with the link doesn't really compare to just a rift s. Alyx is an incredible experience but it's one time really but I keep coming back to beatsaber it's unironically made me pretty jacked and a lot fitter, I'm like top 20 in my country now feels good. VR chat was pretty shit desu just a load of kids running around screaming memes. If you can get your rift s for 260 I would go for it.
