Why do people prefer to spend hundreds of dollars a week on lottery tickets than on crypto?

Lottery purchase are perfectly rational if you discount the future. I for instance will blow my brains out at age 50, even if I did manage to square and chisel away a retirement. It's nothing and by then it's too late. I'd rather throw all my money away now for the mere chance a hitting it big in my prime.

I used to when I lived with my parents and had no bills, After spending ~$18k over 1.5 years of playing I realized the chances of winning where so small I stopped. I did start playing again but I only really play megamillions and powerball now when they get above $300M and I by 1 of each for the week.

Crypto may be gambling in a sense, but there's at least some skill and knowledge that can benefit you. For example: don't buy projects that get shilled relentlessly on here by pajeets suddenly. The equivalent in crypto would be closing your eyes and picking a top 200 coin and just buying and waiting, lol

Oh, also, my wife used to work at CVS. A woman came in and spent $100 on lottery tickets every single pay day. She was also a cashier but at the grocery store next to the cvs.

I'd rather save up a couple hundred for a real casino trip than buy scratch tickets if I feel like gambling (for fun, and only for that).

Crypto is an investment that can yield you a return even if it's just pocket change depending how you play. Spending hundreds of dollars hoping that one ticket will make you instantly rich that exact moment is careless and dangerous

it's easy you just go in the gas station you are there twice a week filling up for your 2 hour wagie commute anyways

>> No.23165997

I only play the mega millions and Powerball once every few months when they get big. I've actually gotten my money back 5 times out of 20 or so tickets.

Also draw games are the way to go. You have better odds the more tickets you buy in a single drawing.

Everytime I pass by my local mall. I would see old-timers and women playing these lotto scratch cards. I feel like most of them have nothing to do but at the same time I feel like they are feeding their addicted habit. I'm thinking its the latter since I would see the same people every week at the food court.

It makes me wonder if these people would've been better off putting most of their money into stocks or even crypto.

You wouldn't believe how many normies still have no idea how to buy crypto. And I'm not talking about boomers, people in their fucking 20s. Sometimes I'll post on instagram how much I made on some coin and they ask he how to buy it and alot of them say it's too complicated. Not even kidding most are too stupid to set up a trust wallet and use fucking uniswap or even make a coinbase account.
