I heard a rumor that due to the volatility in the markets, the fundamentals for LINK have changed greatly. In this it was apparent that Chainlink was never meant to be used as a currency, but rather as a protocol.

ChainLink is a decentralized network of nodes that provide data and information from off-blockchain sources to on-blockchain smart contracts via oracles. The Chainlink Aggregating Contract takes all the data from the chosen oracles and validates and/or reconciles it for an accurate result. For the most accurate result, the Chainlink protocol would be far more effective if it were tethered at $1. To achieve this, the team is working with exchanges to lower the price until it reaches this threshold.
