ethereum supply is much higher than XRP. Its just that the average person sucks at decimals and fractions that they don't understand this fact.

Ethereum has 18 decimals. XRP has 6 decimals.

this means that ethereums total supply is

x1,128,740,000

that of XRP.

How many units do you have to play with if you have 1,000 with zero decimals? 1000

How many units do you have to play with if you have 100.0 with 1 decimal? 1000

how many units do you have to play with if you have 10.00 with 2 decimals? 1000

how many units do you have to play with if you have 1.000 with 3 decimals? 1000

The decimal is just placed in an arbitrary point in the string. It has no use to the computer, it is just for human readability.
