no waste of money buy cheaper better price/quality ratio watch. maybe a Tudor or something because the watch you are reffering to is kinda nigger tier. Plus everyone has a rolex nowadays anyway. Rolex markets to high end market but because everyone wants to look rich even poorfags buy a rolex and ruin the image. It's the same with luxury clothing. If i see people wearing LV now i just think they kinda look dumb because they're probably poor people trying to impress you with dumb shit clothing.

id say its alright to have 1% of your net worth in watches and 5% in cars. so $1m net worth could have 10k watch and 50k car if they wanted. Multiply until you get to the rolex price.

This. Obviously the more or less money you have to play with the more you can bend these rule, i.e if you have $5MM and spend 10% of your net worth on cars, you're still worth $4.5MM and your spending power is about the same. Same as if you're worth $100 and buy a $10 casio, sure it's a 10% of your net worth but this doesn't really matter because you're in roughly the same position. Whereas if you're worth $100k and spend, say $15k on a car, you price yourself out of things like property, investments and loans.

Man the amount of watch noobsb n this thread confirms my suspicions. Its a gmt hand it allows me to keep track of two time zones. Useful back when I actually traveled for work. The numbers on the rotating bezel allow for a 3rd time zone calculation. Subs are just time and date and hardcore pressure tolerant. A GMT adds a unique complication. Honestly get off the chan and do research elsewhere. I've been into watches 10 years and learned more on my own through trial and error than any 30nmknute YouTube video. One anon said get a nice seiko then save for a real watch and he's right. Do not waste your money on mid tier garbage like Tissot, oris, omega, breitling, all of that is shit and tanks in value the moment you buy it. If you have to get a speedmaster buy used. Always buy omega used. Ask me anything, I can't be stumped.

Thanks, I noticed the gmt hand the second after I asked. I have a Seiko Samurai and a Hamilton Khaki Field. The Seiko loses a surprising amount of time per day that I often wonder if it's fake. But, they are both nice watches for less than $1k together. I'm thinking my make it watch will be a Tudor Pelagos. I don't want something many normal people will know.

A fine choice. I will likely get a tudor chrono black bay at some point. I like how retro they are styling them. Don't buy anymore mid tiers until you get your grail. I wasted probably 2 to 3000 on having like 8 mid tiers. Sold all of them online

That watch is straight up laughably big on your wrist. Its like big fucking ben. Tissot dress watches are so big and clunky. I wouldn't be bragging about this over a seiko. The movement might be nicer but you're gonna shit bricks when you go to service this watch and its 1/5th of what you paid. Then you will realize what every guy with a mis tier watch realize: its not worth the upkeep versus a Rolex which can actually grow in value

I've heard a lot of people saying that. I guess it makes sense that $500 watches will quickly add up to a Tudor. I have been tempted to get a Seiko presage for nicer outings, I really like the blue hands on the SRPB77, but I'll likely heed that advice.
