What's a good platform to use for crypto. About to buy into the meme and dunk my toes in.

coinbase pro just started to allow instant trading (you have to wait 6 days to withdraw but that because of the fiat system). also no withdraw fee. it has relatively high trading fees but it a tested platform. if you want to buy shitcoins just sent BTC from there to binance using a vpn

>> No.23017817

>>23017770
Why the VPN for shitcoins ?

>> No.23017974

>>23017817
because binance requires KYC (assuming you are in the US). i dont want to give anyone my ID unless i have to. im not giving them actual dollars so my identity is none of their business

>> No.23018028

Bug using coin base. Set up a wallet, use metamask. Send your eth or btc to the wallet and trade on Uniswap... no stupid vpn required.

if you're in the US use coinbase if you're outside use Binance

I wish some big brained anon could put together a flow chart for this shit. Surely someone is bored and autistic enough to do it on here.

because they think you are in another country! therefore, binance doesnt care about your identity to appease mr. shekelstein

I'm outside so I'll go investigate binance.

Do you need to set up a wallet first or is that part of signing up to a platform ?

>> No.23018257

>>23018205
part of signing up, but i recommend getting metamask for wallet once you're in

>> No.23018259

>>23018205
its part of it. the fund are help in binances wallet. therefore you dont really own them until you send them to a hardware or desktop wallet.

Next dumb question for newfags

How much of a starting seed is recommended ? Thinking of dropping 1k, not enough to break the bank and only kinda sad if I lose it.

i started with 550 every two weeks but it depends on your income. dont put more than a few thousand on an exchange. google mt gox. and then buy a ledger or trezor

I started out with crypto.com and still use it, it’s pretty legit. They had zero fees for using your debit/credit card and you don’t have to wait at all to get your crypto. The zero fees ended, at least for the US. Now it’s 1% of the total but I don’t really mind. I’d rather do that than hassle with my bank account and waiting days. I also got the free crypto.com card and can easily deposit instantaneously in fiat. Really recommend it

>> No.23018468

What encouraged you to get in now? Gotta be honest, this kinda sounds like a sell signal.

You’re honestly entering at a good time. Most coins are at a pretty low price compared to a month ago. Some coins went down 50% so you’d be getting them at a huge discount. Always do your own research, don’t always go with what biz tells you. Most of the time they’re trying to get suckers to pump their bags. Once in a while you’ll get a post worth looking into. Use your best judgement. As a newbie I would recommend Ethereum, since you really need it in order to buy ERC20 tokens. On a bull run they will be super high demand. Even holding Ethereum will give you a lot of gains, more than Bitcoin. Current price is about $350, ATH was $1400. Next bull run it is bound to hit at least 2,000. I also recommend a fairly new token UNI. It is the governance token of the top decentralized exchange at the moment. Currently about 3.90. This is bound to go to AT LEAST $15 next bull run. The prices I give you are pretty conservative compared to the real potential. I just want to give you realistic numbers. No one knows when the bull run will take off, but a smart investor prepares for it. You accumulate at the lowest prices, sell at the highest. Don’t expect to double or triple your money the next day, week or month even. It might take a while but honestly that’s not a bad thing. Gives you more time to accumulate as much as possible. Try doing DCA (dollar cost average) I suggest reading up on it but basically it’s not going all in at once, but buying let’s say half of your budget one day, and if you see it go down another 20 or 30%, buy more with the second half of your budget. That way when you see prices go down, it doesn’t hurt as much because you know you’re going to take advantage of that. There’s so many other coins out there with so much potential, maybe even more than Ethereum and UNI. I just wanted to give you some comfy purchases, that you know you will profit from for sure some day soon. Best of luck fren

There are! For that I would recommend you look into FLOW. The first 60 days you would get 1% of your total amount of coins every single day at 5pm Central time automatically in your wallet. Let’s say you have 2000, you get 20 coins. The next day, since you have 2020 coins, you would get 1% on top of that so you get 20.2 coins, and so on. Compound interest I believe it’s called. I believe the 60 days are about to end on October 13 or 14. After that you will get .50% of your total amount of tokens, everyday at the same time. It’s a nice way to make a steady income, way more than you’d make having that money sitting in a savings account. I suggest you try looking them up on CoinGecko and read up their page so you can understand it fully, I don’t know if I might be confusing you. It’s a lot of information to take in for sure, but if you really invest some time into crypto, it could become a profitable hobby. You might experience losses here and there, but as long as you know you’re here for the long run and the big gains, that’s the mentality you need. Also beware the FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt). People will try to get people to sell their coins so they can buy them at cheaper prices by talking down your coins, when in reality they have so much potential and people are realizing this. Crypto world is crazy but honestly it’s super fun. Just try to block the bad things and enjoy the good things, like the humor posts on this board. Let me know if you have any other question!

Also look into staking! With some coins, if you lock them up you will get more coins every so often. Some can reward you pretty nicely, while others are barely noticeable desu. Beware staking coins that have a huge “cool down” period. AKA, once you unstake to get them back, you won’t receive them until 7 days later for example. Sometimes even 30 days. What if the coin your staking starts doing terribly and goes down in price by the time you get it back and are able to sell it? That just happened with Hatch Dao and Trustswap. Poor people. Don’t let that happen to you. At least with FLOW there’s nothing you have to do other than hold your token in your wallet, no locking involved.

I'll bite. Why should I trust a hardware wallet running proprietary software that connects to the Internet more than a wallet on a well-established broker? (And yes, I remember Mt. Gox.) Seems to be same basic problem, different implementation.
