I'm getting married next may. My sister said she received 7k in straight cash gifts along with most of her registry being fuffiled.
My fiance and I plan on spending around 6k total with our parents contributing 14k. Overall we might make it out with $100-200 profit. You CAN profit if you invite a fuck ton of people who won't come but might give money or if your parents give you a fuck ton for the wedding. Otherwise, don't count on it.
