I disagree with it.

This thinking would be true if no altcoins existed.ETH is interchangeable with fiat and so are litecoin and soon Bancor will be. All the value from Bitcoin will slowly flow into ETH, shitcoins, and eventually sucked into Bancor reserves. Bitcoin will stall and eventually reverse.
