Polkadot is legitimately the #1 tech, currently ranked #7. It still has a safe x5 by next year, taking it halfway to Ether's market cap. Coinbase listing, coinbase staking. Parachain auctions will take out half the circulating supply, plus create demand for Dot itself. Polkadot ICOs are hot atm - even the public sale tiers make their x2, x3s. Polkaproject.com is over 250. Yesterday https://www.plasmnet.io/ finished its lockdrop - 150k ether locked, signalling support. W3F using its 1 bn warchest to give grants and technical support like a real chad foundation should (meanwhile ethereum foundation is sitting on its ass still trying to figure out proof of stake).
Everything is bullish for Polkadot. Just get a bag and sit tight. Stop getting scammed chasing the next x100 moonshot. Buy dot stake dot make it. Simple.

ETH 2.0 has finality of 6 minutes, Polkadot says 12 - 60 seconds (but this is actually longer because there still needs to be a period where fisherman can claim they are invalid and actually has the potential to roll back committed blocks on the relay chain. Again imagine paying for an item at a store and then find out the chain has been rolled back / some validations no longer valid.. Cosmos has 6 seconds but it has the issue of not having a central location where all validators are part of and so has a network of many hubs and zones, resulting in having to traverse multiple (each with 6 seconds) so the actual time is much longer. AVAX has less than 3 seconds (generally a lot lower than that) and as it has the default subnet which everyone validates then it can be used as a secure place to interoperate with other chains.

Polkadot is hoping for 1000 validators on the relay chain (good luck with that with traditional consensus - to give them more time rather than process every block they validate chains of blocks instead which adds to the latency and gives them more time for consensus). They are limited to 100 parachains (assuming they actually manage 1000 nodes) and the solution to interoperate with the likes of ETH and Bitcoin really isn't a great solution involving a dedicated parachain in between each of them as a bridge taking one of the slots and massively adding to the time taken for finality to be achieved.

With polkadot you also have the issue of potential censorship if relay chain doesn't validate block, you could end up having to pay enormous fees every couple of years in an auction to keep your slot so that you can be validated or otherwise have to migrate your entire solution. AVAX you have sovereignty for each blockchain with no limits on the amount of blockchains that can be added and thus not potentially forced to pay extortionate fees to have your blocks validated.

You say that as if it were a good thing. If it costs 10k to attack an AVA chain then the whole AVA system is fucked. Polkadot provides shared security for every single parachain connected. That means its 100 harder to develop a system like Polkadot but its also 100 times more valuable. Which is why you see Polkadot in the top 10 but AVA barely holding on to top 100.
