It would've been better to dump large amounts with high slippage and gas price ASAP. To drain maximum ETH from the pools before the LPs and teams had time to respond.

>>22883415
Better to swap the ETH for XMR in OTC trades at a discount. Your counterparties would be paid a % to deal with the long slow process of mixing the ETH.

The hacker is clearly a noob. At least he made a giant advertisement for how most ERC20 tokens are centralized dogshit. XMR couldn't have paid for a better advertisement.

He sent 50k USDT to another address:
https://etherscan.io/tokentxns?a=0xeb31973e0febf3e3d7058234a5ebbae1ab4b8c23&p=2
Tether froze his 19.8m USDT several hours later.
He could've swapped the 19.8m USDT for 50k ETH on Uniswap in a single transaction.
The AMPL dogshit also had enough liquidity to swap the whole lot for 28k ETH before they froze it.
He made the same mistake on several tokens. He gave the teams time to pause the contracts or announce migration to new contracts.

Honestly, I don't get how this dude had the know-how to hack a fucking exchange but doesn't even have the foresight to hide his tracks in fucking CRYPTO. Like what the fuck? This is blowing my mind. It must be a fall guy who was promised a portion of the wealth or something. Why the everliving fuck would you concert any of that shit into USDT? Why the fuck would you not write a script to make a shitload of transactions into new wallets to spread the trail and make it harder to track? Why the fuck wouldn't you liquidate into true privacy coins?

To answer OPs question, I would spread the wealth to a shitload of different wallets. No single wallet should have more than maybe 100k worth but even that is probably pushing it. Because it's being done by a script, it shouldn't matter if it leads to hundreds of wallets - the more the better. Then have a script that slowly converts the shitcoins into something like XMR on a DEX. From there you can be extra cautious and spread them to newly generated wallets again JUST IN CASE. From there you're good, you kw have hundreds of wallets with millions in XMR combined. You can hold onto that shit if you want because XMR isn't going anywhere so long as the darkweb markets exist, and you can little by little concert some into other coins if you REALLY want. But because the wallets only have a few thousand XMR in them each it won't make anyone suspicious. The first few steps need to be executed quickly before too many people start tracking you and trying to stop you, but once you're at the XMR stage there's nothing anyone can do anymore. .

Someone my master plan? I don't think there's a flaw in it, but then again I'd be lying if I said I was 100% knowledgeable in tracing crypto transactions. I'd assume that with this level of obfuscation, only the initial fund spreading would be easily trackable via automated analysis.

>> No.22884695

>>22884164
There are OTC counterparties who would knowingly buy tainted ETH with their XMR at a % discount. People who want to earn 10% or 20% for taking tainted ETH and mixing it.

The hacker could mix the ETH himself, but the tornado anonymity set is small. He would have to deposit 100 ETH, wait 1-2 days, withdraw 100 ETH to a fresh address, swap the 100 ETH for XMR using a fresh exchange account everytime. Easier to outsource that process to multiple couterparties who would simply send him XMR for the ETH at a discount.

It also goes without saying that you'd never fucking cash any of this shit out until. At least not any time soon. If you wanna live life like a king, wait like a year or something after having your wallets do tons of automated transactions so there's consistent movement. Don't shit your job or buy expensive shit, keep livinglife as if nothing happened. After your year of waiting, you can do something stupid to purposely get fired or something. Use what little legit savings you have to "soulsearch" around the world and find your way to some SEA country where they wouldn't give a fuck. Don't cash all your shit out at once, but from here you should be able to slowly bring your money out of crypto and into real made-it money. By then I don't think anyone will be on your trail anymore but you could always put in the extra effort of "investing" into shitcoins they you purposefully PnD.

I wonder if crypto whales do this? Just PnD shitcoins they have no real value just so they can launder illict crypto gains. "I got in on DickCoin when it was shilled on /biz/ and got out before the whales crashed it! I'm rich!!!"

He had 14 hours to swap the USDT for ETH before Tether froze it. He could've swapped 100% of it in a single transaction on Uniswap.

if I get the private keys to $150mm in crypto, I'm flash loaning a leverage long on eth, generating a smart contract to dump the ERC assets, dumping all the hot wallet contents in one block, and forwarding all the eth to a burn address.

then, separately and uniquely, I'm opening an unconnected futures short as a hedge in the incredibly likely case that eth devs back up the tx data to invalidate that transaction and then the eth market dumps again.

if all that doesn't work, well, I've always got $15m in BTC to fall back on that will allow me to live in my private island once I've washed it through xmr.to

you'll never get all the $150mm. best you can do is execute mass erc sales dumping the alts and executing flash loans against the same block to arbitrage it. that would likely get you close, but in all likelihood VB would step in again and fork the chain just like they did back in 2016, leave you stranded with $15mm in eth classic you can't trade on any cex lol

This level of attack is either has Gov't backing or rival exchange. Of the many shitcoins stolen as well as BTC & ETH some of the companies have taken a serious hit, not just financially but to their brand image (NOIA network) The money may not be the only incentive.

LocalMonero doesn't require KYC.
LocalMonero could freeze the XMR in escrow if they saw they were trading with tainted ETH.
In that case he could move to dealing with his counterparties directly in jabber or Telegram. He would have to do small transactions like 10 to 50 ETH to minimize the loss if a counterparty takes the ETH and doesn't send the XMR.

no the play is to move to a tax haven and cash out the crypto while a resident of that country. what you then do is move to a real proper country (america) because tax havens are usually shitholes. if youre wise you would place it in shell companies just like the ultrarich does and finance anything you want from there, and IRS/HM revenue cant do shit about it.
