22878618 No.22878618 [Reply] [Original]

WHY DO WE AS INDIVIDUALS HAVE TO PAY INCOME TAXES FROM OUR GROSS INCOME BUT MULTIBILLION DOLLAR BUSINESSES ONLY PAY TAXES ON THEIR PROFITS, MEANING THEY CAN PAY ALL FROM A COUPLE HUNDREDS DOLLARS TO ZERO IF THEY JUST INVEST THEIR PROFTS?!!!!
SHOULDN’T WE BE TAXED ON OUR SAVINGS OR WHATEVER IS LEFT OF OUR INCOME FOR THE MONTH INSTEAD?!!

IT’S NOT FUCKING FAIR

let businesses keep their current tax structure, just give us regular guys the same. Let us write off food, rent/mortgage and utilities, and then pay tax on the remainder. Thats fair

OP is correct, the supreme court made corporations people so they should be paying the same taxes.

You can take a standard deduction which will offset a lot of your taxable income. You can also deduct business expenses if you own a business. The point is to allow companies to keep money working in the economy. If a company ever wants to realize its profits, it will be subject to taxation.

>> No.22879567

Corporate profits are taxed at a higher rate than individual taxes, because they're subjected to double-taxation at the corporate and individual level. Why does writing off valid business expenses and losses trigger retards so much?

Because the progressives say
>Isn't it unfair that people can make $100,000 dollars while you make $50,000?
>He shouldn't have all that money. It's not good for society. We should tax his income for the good of society.
>He gets a 35% income tax on all his income! Bam, now he's got only $65k!
>Btw, you also get a 24% income tax. Enjoy paying less than he does in tax; you earned that money and he's getting screwed!
And then smarter people say
>Wait, won't the economy eventually lock up if nobody really has disposable income?
>Let's add some incentives so people get rid of their cash by investing in businesses, since they'll actually cause more people to get jobs
>Capital gains tax rate
>Business cost deductions
>Interest deductions
>Charitable deductions
And so it becomes far more beneficial to the individual to start a business and leave their income in their businesses.

>Try to lower individual tax rate
>THEY'RE WORKING FOR THE RICH
>DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH THE TAX RATES!
While individuals who don't have the inclination, knowledge, or simply confidence to start a business get screwed.
