We europoors like to talk a lot of shit about America, many times it's justified, but I think when it comes to salaries the joke is on us. I've seen that 90k$ can be easily achieved in America even without education, while an educated, intelligent person can earn 200k +. In Europe, on the other hand, the starting salary is around 30k$ medium in 50k$ and it's really hard to get a job that pays over 100k. This is western Europe, its 1.5-4 times less in central and east. Am I wrong Americabros? How hard is it to get a job that pays in the high 5 figures and what qualification do you need for that job?

>> No.22824514

Top pay for a package car driver at UPS in my district will be just over $40/hr at the end of the current contract. I think it's a little over $38 now. I work a lot of 55+ hour weeks. Money is good, but it comes at the expense of your life. Eventually you get a ton of time off I guess that helps. I only get 3 weeks right now.

The problem with trying to answer that question with any degree of certainty is the US economy is several degrees of magnitude larger and more diverse that any national or even regional economy in Europe. You would have to be more specific.
>A European garbage can has more history that your entire country what the fuck are you talking about lmao
We've existed for a fraction of the time as you and yet we've arguably accomplished as much, if not more, than the rest of you combined in that time.
We certainly matter more than you as far that influence on the overall direction of global affairs is concerned and we will continue to do so for a while.

The bottom rung in USA is lower than western europe, but the top rungs are higher. You get more for less money when it comes to food, land, and housing. Healthcare expenses can cripple the middle class and lower, but the best healthcare in the world is available to the rich.
Australia and NZ are similar except they have higher taxes (not as high as northern europe though) and free health care. You can achieve 'high 5 figures' (measured in USD) as a plumber or electrician, or even as a laborer working union jobs, particularly if willing to work on mining sites in the middle of nowhere. Junior doctors/nurses will make more money 2-5 years out of university than euro docs/nurses who are literally heads of departments.
It is not surprising that EVERY time there's a thread about this shit, it degenerates into 'muh history', 'muh culture'. Euros literally cannot comprehend how much better a person's material circumstances can be in the Anglo colonies and being confronted with it causes uncomfortable cognitive dissonance. 'Culture and history' is cold comfort when you're raising a family on 30k a year in an apartment the size of my garage KEK

The pros of Europe are that the large social security net means you won't starve. Japan and the other developed parts of East Asia (including coastal Chinese cities like Shanghai) are also like this. The con in all these developed, socialized economies is that your tax burden is much higher to cover the costs of the safety net.

In the USA if you are working a mcjob but don't qualify for free healthcare you're not going to be making enough money to pay for a good healthcare plan while missing out on the Euro-style gibs that go to poorfags.

But if you make above 40k a year, usually those types of jobs tend to also have what we call "benefits". In the USA many people don't care about "universal health insurance" because we get benefits such as "corporate-covered health insurance" alongside our normal salaries. Basically when Europeans post "steve stubbed his toe and got billed 1 million dollars for a checkup" those are very isolated cases- most people are covered by medicare/medicaid if they are old/poor or are covered by their job.

Obamacare was to cover the other 10% of people with shitty health insurance, but costs have continued to increase because the big elephant in the room is that American pharmaceuticals don't enforce copyright violations against countries like Canada or Brazil for taking copyrighted American drugs and making their own off-brand versions- they merely increase the cost that they charge Americans instead of trying to make foreigners pay up.

Also hospital admins are bloated.

>>22824978

Working as a personal vehicle delivery driver during the november-january period for UPS you can easily make 50/hr when people give you tips. 33/hr is just for 40 hours a week. Take a second job doing something else on the weekend and you can easily bump you money up to like 24000 during that holiday period. No social security tax this year because of Trump, so you keep about 90%~ of it.

>> No.22825930

>>22825834
I also don't mean to say America or Europe are superior to the other- we face many similar problems such as mass immigration causing skyrocketing housing costs in major metro areas forcing people to put off having kids while they try to secure stable employment, while over-education has diluted the value of a bachelor's degree.

I think though characterizing the American healthcare system in particular as failing is because Europeans are unfamiliar with the idea that it used to be the norm for every job to cover health insurance, it was only in recent years that companies took advantage of ignorant mexican illegals to start slashing benefits wherever they could in unskilled work.

I live in Australia, which I would say is a pretty decent middle ground between Europe and the US, and your points are spot on.

Here in Australia, the money is made by working in undesirable locations or working undesirable hours.

I have a friend who works as a Manager at a fucking McDonalds and he makes 72k per year before overtime, only because he works at night and on the weekends.

I have no degree and I work a standard office gig and make the similar kind of money, I clear about 70k a year plus some occasional overtime here and there.

This does come at a cost though. The cost of living in Australia is really fucking high because our salaries are high. We may pay less taxes than Northern Europe and Scandinavian countries, but we make up for this with cost of living. I'll use housing as an example. Here it's impossible to buy a house for under half a million dollars in a large city. Primarily because a bunch of boomers are leveraging into property investments because tax incentives for owning property in Australia are more advantageous to owning property in the USA or in Europe. But other expenses are more expensive as well. Utilities, Fuel, groceries are all more expensive here.

Akin to europe, we have a really good social security net here. Granted, it's not enough to survive on, but if you had some money saved it could see you through until you'd get another job.

I love the pay and the culture but we have a serious nigger problem. They also tax the everloving shit out of us, but otherwise I'm pretty happy to be American. I did a two year degree and it's a breeze to get a 90k salary even straight out of school. But nursing school was kind of hard so they don't just hand it to you, have to earn such a salary.

do some research into opportunities in Data Science maybe- it's at the intersection between computer science, statistics, and math as well to some degree (linear algebra mostly).

Lots of noobs lacking the proper technical background getting into it and earning well, if you come from an actual hard science / mathematics background you'll probably be head and shoulders above most people getting started in this field

Go ahead to murrica and feel free to pay your entire savings to healthcare and elders home moron.
Comparing mutts with Europoors is like comparing elephant poop with apples.

In germany i get paid 40 days vacation.
I can go to the doc without paying anything (because it was deducted from your taxes) and let the doc write me infinite time sick and get also paid the money i would earn while working.

Europe especially Germany is not for working, its for fooling around the governments and try to work the less possible.

In Germany we have a high Job qualification class where you can educate yourself forwards without the need of a University or college.

On Muttland , everything is based on your college degree.

Wanna work at McD? Cool story bro , Job experience and college degree at which level?

Other side of Muttland

Wanna work in a Job? Ok start tomorrow! You dont need any further education besides of 2 days video watching. (risk the danger of hurting yourself and others with basically no job education)

So you got sick and you are unemployed too?
Too bad , that'll be 10.000$ for a covid based ventilator (usage 2 days)

So you want to have free days?

Too bad we only know independence day and labour day.

we euros get a lot of 'benefits' like paternity/maternity leave, paid sick days (10 at my current place), more paid time off, etc. it's not like these things are magically free because your government makes the companies do it, it's a cost they just pass on to you in the form of a lower salary.

and to be honest, a higher base salary is actually the best option when you think about it. you could spend or work as you choice, not simply trying to take time off to get your 'free days' (aka days you've already paying for and trying to get back).

reminds me of the whole 'free food' the facebook / google recruiters mention. if you don't stay in the office and eat, you're losing out on something that has already been factored into your cost as employee. clever ruse to get you not to leave the campus, blurring the line between work and personal time, etc.

Such a retarded conclusion. You cant copyright medication theres a 20 year patent and after that its free play. If we make copycats because the originals wont lower the price because they wanna make more money thats on you guys dont go blame other countries for your greed

I'm guessing you don't care but it's very important to boomers because name brand meat luxury and some people can't afford it. It's a way of showing off if you take expensive acetaminophen vs acetaminophen that comes in different packaging.
