Share price relates only to the *market's perceived* value of the business
The value of the business goes up or down independent of share price, but exchange share price is calculated on how much the owners of shares are willing to sell them for versus how much buyers are willing to pay for them.

Share price is driven by investor demand, which is driven by perceived performance.

Look up maker vs taker orders. Taker orders are what causes price fluctuations. Maker orders comprise what is available to takers. If a taker wants to buy 1000 link at $1.00, he can only do so if there are enough market makers willing to sell at $1.00. If there aren’t enough and he decides to buy at $1.01, then he drives the price up. Works similarly for market selling too but in the other direction
