its was in the past easier to acquire dried poppy pods and now you can still find unwashed poppy seeds which both would contain morphine and codeine alkaloids. In the US poppy seeds are not technically illegal despite the morphine on them. The morphine of course is illegal but you can still buy them easily
You basically take those and use water to extract the morphine and you are left with a rather bitter drink. After a while you will even enjoy the taste.

well it depends on who you are buying from. The morphine is not in the seed but just left on the seed. If your supplier does not wash the seeds or does not wash them well they will have morphine and codeine still on them.
most of the big brands are no go but yeah you can easily find those that are not washed or not washed well.

thankfully you can get something like loperamide over the counter. Its an opiate that does not cross the blood brain barrier. So you can use it to avoid withdraws or taper down like a poor mans methadone. It just won't give you any of the euphoric effects.
