The bridge is how you move between chains. It’s what let’s you take your Dai on Ethereum network and make it xDai on the xDai network. I suppose there’s an element of trust that the software works, but much like Uniswap it can be forked and copied like other open source software.

Apologies, badly worded on my part. It’s intended to become a shard on ETH 2.0, but that doesn’t mean it will in the end because that’s far away. xDai itself has support from lots of ETH devs with even Vitalik shilling it a couple of times on Twitter.

You can see that TVL is starting to increase. This reddit GitHub update is a major indicator that they won. I don’t see why they would spend any additional resources or time if they didn’t win, or aren’t in the final consideration.

Then you have akropolis and Aave taking a close look at xdai to save on gas costs. Plus the upcoming uniswap v3 which is supposed to fix gas fees.

If all of those end up on xdai, were going to 500-600 million EASY.

STAKE is the governance token for the xDai network, a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum and currently the best in crypto with only Matic coming close.

Honey is a token on the xDai network that is used to govern Honeyswap, a fork of Uniswap that was ported over to the xDai network. Fees are paid in xDai (stablecoin tied to Dai, so it’s always $1) and fees usually amount to about $0.0001 cent or so. They’re also almost instant transactions. So imagine Uniswap, but ridiculously cheap and far faster.
