Sup lads. This is the Monero general, where cypherpunks discuss the world's only fungible cryptocurrency!
Recent news: CLSAG is coming next month, adoption continues to rise on the dark net (we are currently trending at the second highest transaction total in Monero's history), and the legal whitepaper supporting Monero was released.
Come in, get comfy.

this ciphertrace company is just a government paycheck. They look to appease the government grant with bogus claims. Just watch the interview that their ceo had with the monero dev team. He has no answers to anything. He "isn't the math guy". https://youtu.be/w5rtd3md11g
Monero can't be traced. It goes against mathematics.

note that this only applies to what addresses you WITHDRAW to - they cannot see where you send FROM.
as a result, a prudent person privy to privacy would prefer to perform transactions with sub-addresses. ppppppppppppp

solid project and pumpamentals; actual pow currnecy - not a premined erc20 shitcoin; top privacy coin; asic mining resistant; active community with strong principles.

the flavor of the day defi coins had their summer, but i expect some older coins to regain some ground over the next three to six months. mainly looking to see a breakout of the eth/btc ratio and xmr/btc ratio. it's been a rough bear market for monero, but it had such a strong bull market last cycle and it is tried and true. notice how a lot of alts have bled hard against btc the last few weeks (xrp, dot, link, ada, flavor of the day defi), while xmr and eth have held their ground.

No way dude. I don't want to cash out at all.
These were the steps I was thinking of taking after my coins take off.

>1. Convert everything into ETH
>2. Put into a tornado
>3. Put all the coins from the first tornado into a second one
>4.Put all the ETH from the second tornado and convert it into Monero
>5. Someone convert all my monero into USD?

Could this work? What is the flaw in this plan? Can you actually convert Monero to USD? Should I use TOR and VPN's to execute this plan?

In most places when you convert your moonshot shitcoins into another type you're eligible for capital gains. If they know who the address is connected to, all they'll care about is that they've been removed in a way that doesn't look like someone just moving wallets (and the blockchain is forever, so they can still figure it out later). This sort of thing will be figured out by datamining AIs and they're only going to get better.

If you've made sure the ETH address you're currently using can't be connected to you (ie.you put money into it via a tumbler), this shouldn't be a problem. Most likely you'll still have to explain the cash coming your way though.
