I've done this calc on a few occasions cooking simple meals and I usually come up at break fucking even vs a basic fast casual meal which is usually a slightly more complex dish and seasoned better too (because they have millions of dollars worth of kitchen testing baked into the product to make sure it tastes optimal, whereas I'm just following a random recipe or guessing).

When I realized this I started eating out / doing takeout 4-5x a week. I spend $100-150 more every month but I save about 5 hours of cooking time and the food is simply tastier than what my dumb ass would make.

Obviously if cooking is fun for you or if there's a social aspect (you're cooking FOR someone) then the equation can change a lot, but as a single autistic NEET neither of those things apply for me.

After the sell-offs the past few weeks (which were overdue & 100% deserved) it seems unlikely that it'll continue into Monday - it has gone down too fast in too short a time frame

I went long TQQQ on Friday @$113 as I believed that institutions had now balanced their portfolios on quadruple witching day / if they were going to continue selling off on Monday I don't think the bounce would have occurred as it did after lunch hour ended (if we had seen a bounce and then sell-off into close, I would have sold before markets closed)
I believed Monday will be a 1-2% green day

So I hold a bunch of $90 AAPL puts for 10/02. If I want to sell them right now, is it smarter to sell a bunch of puts at $85 or whatever to get a small profit and then hold my $90s as a lotto ticket?
I was also thinking if it wasn't going to drop that low, if I made a profit tomorrow and the $85 put goes to .01 I could buy those back and then sell the $90s at .1 or whatever and probably make up the difference between the price on Monday morning.
It seems like the only risk is losing unrealized gains if AAPL were to drop below $85 which seems really unreasonable
