There a junior explorer with two properties in Mexico and two in Canada. Their Mexican ground is within the Sierra Madre Occidental Volcanic Complex, a massive zone of volcanic alteration which hosts some of the largest gold silver mines in both the US and Mexico. Pretty interesting ground. They plan to drill several areas with exposed high value mineralization on the El Mezquite property, as its closest to infrastructure and another operating gold silver mine. The rest of their properties are very early stage exploration but serious exploration work has been carried out on all of them in previous decades. I will have to watch these guys to see if they find anything.

Discovery Metals market cap = 700 million
Discovery Metals silver ounces = 1 billion

Silver Spruce market cap = 10 million
Silver Spruce (alleged) silver ounces = 120 million

They either have 120 million ounces of silver at Pino, and it's the best silver value-investment ever, or it's a scam and a fraud. Don't know which. On one hand, the management team is a ghost, and the CEO recently sold about $20,000 of shares. On the other hand, "oldbanker" on ceo.ca, aka "Silverrichman" on StockHouse, has been enthusiastically talking about the stock for years, and constantly adding to his position. He didn't sell a single share even when the price jumped to 0.13 CAD. He got it right on K92 Mining, East Asia Minerals, and many other stocks. I don't know anything about him other than that he's in his 70s or 80s and appears to know the management team. He says that news about Pino could come out any day now. But again, who knows if he's right.

>Has anyone looked into this uranium connection with Silver Spruce Resources yet, this is what I could find
It's from 2012 and their website's news archive only extends to 2015 so I had to do some digging on globalnewswire.com

https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2012/08/28/1346901/0/en/Silver-Spruce-Reports-on-Central-Mineral-Belt-Labrador-Uranium-Holdings.html
They report on some promising drilling results in August 28 2012

https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2012/11/15/1391779/0/en/Silver-Spruce-Provides-Update-on-Recent-Developments.html
They state tat they'll hold off on exploring until uranium rebounds at the end of 2012. The price of uranium would continue to fall from its price of about 45 dollars at the time, to under 20 dollars in its ATL in December 2016

https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2017/04/12/1118751/0/en/Silver-Spruce-Announces-that-it-has-retained-FronTier-Merchant-Capital-for-Investor-Relations-and-Marketing.html
April 2017 -- This is the final news release regarding Silver Spruce that mentions uranium or the Labrador property. They didn't really report anything else regarding the property other than that they own it in most news reports. I guess they decided to just sell it and never mention it to the investors considering the price of uranium just kept plummeting lol. They also kept adding more shares to finance their debt, announcing stock options and private placements, as well as naming new management staff.

I haven't looked into their current projects but I have to say I'm not very confident in these signs I see. Seems like it's a hopeless endeavour at least for now. No idea why it seems to be climbing at the moment

What confuses me about SSE is that the news is all about their other more gold-based properties, like El Mezquite. What people want to know about is Pino. You would think that they would be eager to talk about Pino during the greatest silver bull market in history. Perhaps waiting for silver to break past $30 first? Who knows.

I picked up a really small portion of shares yesterday after doing some research. Something I wouldn’t be too terribly heartbroken about losing should Silver Spruce turn out to be a dead-end. But the potential seems off the charts if the rumor is true re: Pino. It’s interesting that it’s had some serious doubters on Stockhouse.

Dam your right that ground looks a lot better than the other one, surface exposed epithermal gold and silver, and its already got a 43-101 compliant report done on it too. Unfortunately its probably due to budget issues and planning during the winter. Silver spiked and they are now stuck looking at other ground instead of proving up a property that is more favorable this season. This happens all the time to juniors too, and its hard to plan against it.

I've noticed that even some of the best stocks have had a lot of doubters. For example, it's interesting to look back at the chat for Vizsla Resources on ceo.ca. Only a few days before it rose 500%, they also had a short attack, just as SSE is having right now, and this is what people were saying:

-

@Gizzy | Whats going on? Action makes no sense at all.. If I weren't scared that somebody knows more than us I would have doubled my position

16 Jun 2020, 15:04

-

@Gldbull | Doesn't make sense, i understand shorting from $.75 but not from $.40 with 2 drills turning, if we hit a couple big holes that is very likely btw, they would get crushed. There has to be something else going on.

18 Jun 2020, 18:02

-

@auguy | This is one of my worst performing silver plays. I am still up but compared to a few others this one blew it when they decided to do a PP at 43 cents.

18 Jun 2020, 16:07

-

"@GoldSwede | VZLA went from a high of.96 to a low of .24 at the lows. Yes, it's bounced from the lows, but it's been a very weak bounce. It's still closer to the lows than it is to the highs. If Konnert doesn't get a move on before the 2nd covid wave, operations will be halted again. Before we know it, there will be more financings etc. What have they accomplished in 9 months? Diddly. "

Thank you, this is extremely interesting. I hope that what you speculate is correct. Perhaps there's still hope for Pino in the long-term? As long as those ounces are actually in the ground, I think it's more than worth waiting for them.

Thought I would post this for some of you /pmg/ folks: pic is showing the correlation between inverse treasury bond price (ticker is TBF, as a proxy for yield), and gold.

There are those predicting major disruptions in the bond market which may cause a spike in yields and maybe another correction to gold prices. Steven Van Metre in particular was calling for a pretty sharp correction in the near term even in excess of march levels. I don't agree with his projections, but I think it's good for people to be understand that bonds are one of the major catalysts for gold price movement. Particularly if gold is overbought a yield spike can trigger a knockdown (note the difference between August and June).

I don't think gold is still overbought, and is largely done with its consolidation at this point, but the risk of yields spiking (especially before the election) is non-negligible, so consider taking a hedge using bond prices and drawing down any margin % you are using or making some cash ready just in case. Personally, I am pilling cash into my account and holding it, and am considering 1-2k in 16$ TBF calls as a hedge against downside risk.

I mean it has been proved up enough to for a 43-101 report, but most of that data is based on surface channel sampling and only a little subsurface drilling. I am betting the ore body doesnt go to depth and thats why their hesitant to drill, it would destroy the properties value. Than again we dont have anyone in the ear of the operators so we cant be sure.

It's not to suggest that Trump or Biden really matters for the markets. I think we are headed off the cliff into MMT + UBI crazytown regardless. The big thing that could cause a bond yield spike is somebody (i.e. China) dumping bonds prior to the election to throw the markets into chaos.

The Fed would have to move to buy up all those bonds to suppress yields again, but they might be slow to do it and in the meantime an all-gold portfolio might be hurting badly. You don't want to get margin called out at the very bottom. Quite the opposite, you'd want to be ready to profit from the dips if you see them coming.

In that scenario I'd sell my TBF calls for a mint, and pump the profit right back into gold and silver miners. If you're not comfortable with call options (i.e. losing all the money you spend on them), a leveraged inverse bond ETF like TMV, or else just holding lots of cash on the side are decent alternative plans.

Fun fact, (and will send you down a peak clown-world black pill rabbit hole) :
In the fractional reserve banking used in the US today and in most western countries, NO ACTUAL RESERVES are required to create new loans. As of March 2020 the reserve ratio requirement in the US is officially 0%. In the UK it has been 0% for years.

The dollar system is being propped up by toothpicks now. A bank can have no money can create billions in loans to give out. What’s the endgame? They trying to cash out as hard as possible before it crashes? Destroy the dollar for digital currencies? I’d say next year we’ll start to see the effects of this, hyperinflation. I guess I'll share some of that rabbit hole journey. Some major waypoints have been:
>Credit Theory of Money
>Modern Banking Profit Model
>Eurodollar System
>Effects and Limits of QE in the US
>actual Mechanics of QE (this is where I'm stuck)
>US Central Bank Digital Currency (US CBDC) and congress proposal H6321

I guess the endgame for banks is that they still need profits. They have to have more assets than liabilities to provide shareholder equity. So they can make as many loans (assets) as they want, BUT when those loans start to go bad, they take the hit on the asset side of the balance sheet. Right now banks see that the economy is in stagnation, so loans are too risky to keep as assets. Bonds on the other hand, are guaranteed to hold value so long as the Fed continues QE. As such, banks have been lending less and buying and holding more bonds. This will tank the economy further and cause more QE from the fed which will make bonds go up in price, strengthening banks' balance sheets.
>Why explain all of this
The expansion of money supply in the US is throttled by the commercial banking system. The Fed has no actual power over monetary inflation. This led to the idea of a US CBDC which could shove money right to consoomers' Digital FedAccount wallets.
>>22667299
>sliding between the cracks
They almost snuck in FedCoins into the March stimulus bill (pic related). Check out Maxine Waters' proposal H6321 on congress.gov

I think this is the endgame. Fed gets direct control over the money supply so they can bypass commercial banks and cause the inflation the US government needs to be able to service its debts.

Since it is sunday, lets talk about the PMG moment in the bible.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirty_pieces_of_silver.. The amount of silver judas sold Jesus for is 13.926 oz, and it is currently $372 in dollers. If we made it to the highest it was adjusted for inflation, It would be $1657.491585. https://www.macrotrends.net/1470/historical-silver-prices-100-year-chart..
This is assuming this would happen today under these market conditions. It would be a lot higher since they do not have the silver and gold riches in the americas, and the advanced mining methods we have.

Evening fellas, I'm wondering if any UK stackers here have a pension, and if its worth having?

I was contributing to one for my last job (now unemployed) and recently got a letter saying I need to either transfer the funds to a new scheme or get a refund of my contributions less tax, the transfer amount being c. x3 the refund amount.

I have no idea what clown world we'll be in when I'm at retirement age (several decades) so I'm tempted to get the refund and get more PMs, or start a junior mining stock portfolio.

I am also wary that the responses I get may be skewed but I find the calibre of poster here generally quite high! Thank you for reading.

It's true it has a bit of quality decline built in which would lead to it being an underestimate.

It'd be preferable to use a very consistent mass market good provided by a company having to pay college educated worker's salaries, and covering their health insurance, and being exposed to real estate prices in major metro markets. Because that would better capture the costs normal people face.

DeGiro is inaccurate. The real price of Klondike is 0.075 CAD = 0.048 euros, not 0.041. Always go to ceo.ca and do a currency conversion to determine the true price of these things.

https://ceo.ca/ks

Also, down 25% from what? Volume on DeGiro is so low that the a buyer could buy 100 shares and drive the price artificially "high" in Frankfurt, before you see the more realistic updated number the next day. Not a single person has even bought Klondike Silver in Frankfurt today. Look at the volume.

Also, even if KS did drop 25%, that shouldn't make you panic. You should be prepared to see it go down 25-50% on any one day. That's how volatile microcaps are. Again, look at the chart. From 1 September to 9 September it "dumped" 33%.

No; in fact, no mining stock is worth thinking about unless there's some relevant news about it. Until silver breaks $30, all of them are going to go sideways. GDXJ and SILJ have been going sideways for 60 days now. Last time they only went sideways for 35 days before breaking out. The wait has been exhausting, but I am sure that it is going to end soon enough.

Latin American Minerals appears to be like Argentum, Mountain Boy Minerals, Silver Grail, Genesis Metals, etc.; another Sprott microcap which you might want to throw a certain amount of money at as a gamble, but obviously not make into a core position.

Yes; I agree with what you say, and it is why I have tended to throw money, blindly, at the microcaps which Sprott is invested in. But I believe that there are a good number of others which he hasn't discovered yet, like BHS, KS, Vangold; and my position in these is much larger than in Sprott's stocks. Simply because my own research has convinced me of their value. I bought Vizsla Resources long before Sprott did, who got in after it jumped 500%. I know from experience that he isn't omnipotent; and the return is always better when you anticipate him rather than follow him. But at any rate, somebody who follows Sprott is going to do extremely well, and definitely outperform the GDXJ or SILJ.

By the way, I thought people might be interested in this. It's Sprott's personal portfolio as of August. Study especially the size of the positions. 21 million in Silver One, 13 million in Dolly Varden, 12 million in Kootenay, but only e. g. 550,000 in Silver Grail Resources, or 350,000 in Genesis Metals. People should adopt the same philosophy; maintain a number of "core" positions which you really believe in, and only speculate on those microcaps which depend upon exploration to succeed. Don't throw all your money at a drill-gamble. Stocks like Silver One or Dolly Varden already have the silver ounces in the ground; you can't lose with them. But you can with a bad microcap.

>>22681702

You're in the position which Cortez was when he burnt his ships after landing in America. Stocks are so illiquid on DeGiro that you won't be able to exit your position unless KS goes up again. All I can say is don't worry about it, you had the conviction to buy it as a leveraged bet on silver; if silver goes up, then KS will go up also.

"@oldbanker | Insiders dumping. No chance to get Tejamen going, and we all know the San Jose property is not worth the new market cap gain. Huge dilution... I see nothing positive here." | 28 Aug 2020, 11:22

@oldbanker | I was right, the insiders are laughing all the way to the bank. I see no real potential here. Massive dilution, Tejamen chances are at around 0% and San José was bought very very cheap recently... Compensation for CEO is stellar... Nah... I warned you. | 3 Sep 2020, 07:25

Just goes to show that throwing money at a Sprott microcap isn't always an infallible way to success.

On the contrary: what makes you trust oldbanker and Silver Spruce so much? I read some of the news reports about SS yesterday and they keep playing musical chairs in management. No mention of their uranium property since 2017 anymore either, it's like it never even existed. They also had to add more shares to pay for debt they couldn't pay a couple of times, also introduced stock options. Worrying signs

I don't; Silver Spruce is purely a gamble. But the upside potential is absolutely enormous if what oldbanker says is true. It's oldbanker whom I think has credibility, not so much SSE. He got it right about K92, East Asia Minerals, Southern Silver Exploration, and many other stocks. He's so relentingly enthusiastic about SSE that I can't help but want to take a position in it, just in case he's correct.

This is an e-mail which he received from SSE in the middle of July, where they allude to the 120 million ounces of silver at Pino:

"We had been frozen for a long time following the death of one of the owners of the mining rights. We have hired legal counsel to complete all the required steps in updating our agreement on the mining rights and with the owners of the land rights. We already have the drilling permits and environmental certificates. Our geologist who conducted the field work and wrote the NI 43-101 estimated the potential as being up to 120 million ounces of silver (and additional amounts of gold, lead, copper and zinc).

El Mezquite

We intend to start mapping and other exploration activities early next month. We anticipate drilling this Fall. We have been informed by our joint venture partner that the property has potential for over one million ounces of gold.

Melchett Lake

We will be doing significant exploration later this year as required under our contract."

Even if it's completely untrue, it does have "silver" in the name, which should give it a couple dead cat bounces in an extreme silver bull market by normie investors. At least enough time to get out if we learn for certain that the silver isn't in the ground, or they have no reliable way to get it out.

>>22683243

Look on the company websites or read the chat on ceo.ca to find out about known ounces. But besides the ounces actually known about, the size and history of the property are important. For example, I know I keep going on about this, but Impact Silver's property = 3x larger than the country of Liechtenstein, is the second-oldest silver property in Mexico, has thousands of abandoned silver mines going all the back to the time of Cortez, etc., etc. There's not the slightest chance that they don't have an enormous quantity of silver on that property. Same case with respect to Dolly Varden. It has a 43-101 resource of 44 million ounces of high-grade silver. But the property is 88 square kilometres, of which only 3% has been explored in detail, and there are four former operating mines. Again, Klondike Silver has a permitted mill and a history of 40 million ounces of production, going back to the late 1800s. Its district is famous for silver. Common sense tells me that there has to be a lot of silver there, far and away enough silver to make that minuscule $12 million market cap seem like an utter bargain.

Defiance has really pumped lately, and I don't know enough about it to determine whether the increase in price is justifiable. You might want to buy Silver One instead, which is still consolidating, and looks less parabolic. Although Silver Sitfolio has Defiance as a "huge" (top 3) position. Dolly Varden and Impact are sure bets with good value. DV and IMP are core positions of mine. I really like Tinka Resources, but it might longer to go up now, because of the IKN hit-pieces. However, it is excellent value.

I'll have to give you sub-200-million as opposed to sub-100, but this is the best list I can make. Bear in mind that, if I am wrong about silver, you are going to lose every penny you own by investing in these stocks.

Sub-200 market cap: Impact Silver, Dolly Varden, Silver One, Aurcana, Irving Resources

Sub-100: Fireweed Zinc, Tinka Resources, Canada Silver Cobalt Works, Eloro Resources

Sub-30: Bayhorse Silver, Klondike Silver, Vangold

Gambles: Northern Dynasty Minerals (as much gold + silver as all of Newmont Mining, only needs a permit), Silver Spruce Resources (possible 120 million ounces at Pino), Aztec Minerals (imminent drilling results at Tombstone), Almaden Minerals (massive silver mine with legal dispute with Mexican government), Goldquest Mining (imminent chance of getting permit from the Dominican government)

I also suggest spreading some cash among the following stocks: Metallic Minerals, Silver Viper, Defiance Silver, Arizona Silver Explorer, Blue Lagoon, Golden Minerals, Callinex, Viscount, Kootenay, Bear Creek
