Lets say you have 400 UNI, which means you are a proud holder of 0.00004% of the total supply.

Someone swaps $1000 worth of tokens
0.05% of a $1000 = $0.50 then goes to the uniswap holders.

0.00004% of $0.50 = $0.00002 goes to you

Daily volume for uniswap is $500 million

0.05% of that is $250k

If you own 1000 UNI that is 1/1000000 of the supply, which means you'll be making 25 cents a day. If you own 400 UNI from the airdrop you'll make 10 cents a day.

After a year, your 400 UNI will have made you $36. They are right now valued at $2000. That means you need 55 years for it to be better to hold than to sell.

This is all assuming trading volume and price remain constant, which they won't.

Trade accordingly.

>> No.22658241

>>22658022
400,000 is just 1,000x of 400. If 400 isn't worthwhile then 400,000 sure as fuck is extra not worthwhile. For this reason I completely disagree with your assessment. You probably also think it's possible to be priced out of something.

Suppose uniswap volume is between $2.5b and $50b per week for 1 year.
That's between $130b to $2600b yearly volume. 0.05% of this goes to UNI holders, so $6.5b to $130b.
Take a circulating supply of 150m UNI, then each UNI would be payed out $43.33 to $866.66.

Consider getting back in.. I sold 2x400 at a comfy price but might buy a smaller stack for the ride.
> A 40% dividend yield would put each token price at 43.33/0.4 = $108.3

BUT there is a decent chance they will not enable this, and if they chose to what would stop everyone switching to copycats with lower fees and higher yields?

Bad case scenario they get like $250m volume, which would be $4.33 per token per year. Worst case scenario you don't get paid shit.

So, with my stack of around ~3500 UNIs and at an average volume of 200million I would make about $35/day or $12,460/year. Now, uniswap has spiked up to volumes of around $1 billion and has since dropped to around $400 million. So we've seen it has potential to get up pretty high in volume, and it's still fairly new where reddit-tier fags don't know how to use it, let alone the general population. In a bull run this volume will spike up to probably around $1 billion/day. I would then be making $62,300 dollars just for holding this token which will also go up in value as the volume goes up in value. Sounds pretty fucking based to me.

They have to, if they don't generate revenue the token has no point. If they don't enable it for V2 it will most likely come by default in V3, but instead of taking a cut from LPs they'll probably just increase the trading fee to 0.35%
