Has biz ever donated directly to homeless people? I just gave $20 to a guy while I was driving back from getting mcdonalds. All he said was "Thank you" and walked away. Honestly I feel like i was scammed

One time I gave this homeless dude $10 and he just grabbed it while not saying a single word or thank you. I haven’t given money to any homeless people since. Only exeption was I gave this one poor dude (didn’t seem actually homeless just struggling hard) a couple dollars one time and he was so happy it looked like he could cry and he told me he would shout me out in a rap song when he was able to record again. Yes. I keep $50 in my wallet for this sole reason. I only give it to people who ask me directly. Anyone who says they will just buy xyz, or to buy food etc... instead is totally missing the point of giving them money. You’re not giving it to me to feed or house them, you’re giving them an opportunity to use it to improve their lives. If they choose to squander it thats on them and its none of my business.

Additionally, I live in a country where theres no way to be legitimately homeless unless youre really trying. To that end, its safe to assume everyone who is homeless is hopelessly mentally ill and / or abuses substances. So its more about making someones day easier, then it is about changing someones life. No.
Here in Philly back in the 90's the local TV station did an undercover expose on many of them and showed them panhandling for a few hours then walking a few blocks to their car then driving to their fairly decent homes. They followed them for several months, often showed them as clean cut people during their off time yet looking desheveled when they walked right out of their house in the morning. They eventually confronted many and the few that didn't run away said they did it because they lost their job and couldn't find work, yet the TV producers constantly had guys drive up offering landscape, construction etc jobs and they all refused. Basically, fuck all of them.
You don't see that type of tv anymore either, wonder why.

I probably do it a few times a year, let them think they are smart or whatever until the day of the rope, then walk up to them with a smile on your face and a strap behind your back. :)

>> No.22514243

I hate all homeless people. the ones in my town, all of them are drug addicts, limbs like twigs and barely form coherent enough sentences to ask you for money. they get ballsy, I can tell they're irritated by telling them no and they hang out in large groups near churches like stray dogs waiting for scraps because churches are the only places that consistently offer them help. oh and of course they have the courtesy of not doing hard drugs but stinking up the fucking area with weed and drinking white cider

I hate them all, i wish we still had mental asylums to stop them being nuisances to the public

>> No.22514270

Homeless people are homeless because they are mentally ill and none of their family or friends want to deal with them anymore. Drugs and booze are just coping mechanisms. Giving them government gibs, food or cash wont fix them their only way out is death.

This is the reason why I stopped giving out money to homeless people. In the states you can get a food stamp card that gives you about $300 to spend money on food PER MONTH I’ve talked to some of these people before and honestly most of them are either druggies, mentally ill, or really just prefer the lifestyle. One guy openly told me he had a house an hour away and does this on his free time for the extra cash

I’m a burger. I was recently in Europe. In Barcelona there were so many fucking cry baby poor Gypsies. I told one of them on the subway to get the fuck out of my face before I lay him out after he kept rubbing his stomach and showing a picture that looks like it just came out of an expensive photo copy machine of his “children” Another time I was sitting outside drinking sangria like a tourist fag. Some lady came doing the shit they do
>rubbing their stomach
>I have kids at home

She kept bothering me, I told her to go sell her body. How do you euro fags deal with the Gypsies. In America, people ask, I tell them no and that’s it.

In Barcelona these Gypsy’s would not stop bothering. I literally wanted to physically assault them.

you have to be a whole new type of under a rock type introvert to look at a huge homeless population and assume its their direct fault... As if every aspect of their lives is under their control. Some of these people are disabled mentally/physically, or are smart but just neurologically atypical and can't function in general society. Seriously its quiet literally just common sense. Statistically shit just can't be the direct faulty of each homeless individual out there.

I was making a business plan and doing research and calculating a per-hour rate from my projections at a coffee shop (this is not a great, high return business) and I was watching this zoned out zombie homeless guy with a sign, and noticed he was getting donations so I started keeping count. Sure enough he was making more (actually twice) per hour than I would make after taxes and expenses. Of course, he only 'worked' the corner for a half hour before taking it across to the Korean mini-mart (which is really where all these donations go) for a pack of malt liquor which he proceeded to consume in the alley less than 20 feet away. I'm not judging, that is a kind of compassion and a sort of economy. Begging is a kind of work, and you could tell, by the look on the guys face, that he wasn't enjoying it. Its just kind of sad all around. People who give receive a real feeling of grace, which is something the bums kind of provide. So it is a legit economy of sorts.
