You could write Iron Condors using a moving window based on price.

Essentially, profit if the stock price doesn't move outside SMA(10) +/- 25% or something.

Look at historical data for the stock and pick a window big enough that > 99% of weeks you'll gain ~3-10% and <1% you'll lose.

Then long puts and calls with significant windows that probability to lose 100% is <<<<1%.

I've had a fairly wide strangle on them for a long time, my short put strike is 15 and I received a 5$ credit originally. I'm a complete retard as well. I'm also a buy and hold investor, not a trader. I learn a lot about options from you guys, even though I will never use them. I just went into Schwab to check it out and looked at investopedia. Yeah, seems like people are really bullish on SQQQ, .2 is extremely bullish, while TQQQ is mildly bearish (0.8 call/put ratio - 0.7 is considered neutral because they are usually more calls than puts).

However, Too Bullish, as we saw with this recent dip, can be bad and mean investoers are too euphoric and we are due for a pullback.

At the end of the day, I have no idea, I'm still learning as well. The VIX dropped on Friday to pre-dip levels, and it looks like the market is slowly recovering to me, but we will see.

The only time SQQQ was NOT HB for these past 3-4 bull run months (even the earnings correction) was literally a day before the big crash last week. Now its HB again, and TQ and many other tech stock got to their EMA 50 on daily chart so i dunno it seems like everything might point to a recovery.
But then again we gotta stay cautious because september is a notoriously bad month, and the elections are coming up so who knows.

I mostly trade around EMA 20 and 50 with upper and lower standard deviation, and basically trade around them. From a technical stand point now might be a good point to start longs on tech again, but i might be wrong so be quick to adjust accordingly.

Fundamentals are weird now tbqh, so i just use statistics/technicals.

Im fucking pissed. I am usually a very cautious trader and i rarely swing large cap stocks for a quick 30~40$/day and thats it.
