Why not checkout how well the other coins that got added have fared.

>> No.22419885

getting added to bitmex at the end of a parabolic run isn't good. it's now easier to make money just by shorting and dumping, doesn't require any new money to join.

Guys the future contract is currently around $14. What does that mean? Why isn't anyone arbitraging this?

I don't have the capital and I'm a long-term speculator. Shouldn't institutional traders be all over this? I heard they're so yield-starved they're buying CCC debt.

>>22421690
I genuinely don't understand, which is why I'm asking for help. The premium on BTC, XRP etc are tiny in comparison.

You need to understand what a futures contract is.

>> No.22422077

>>22421955
With that maturity and that little premium I wouldn't exactly call this an arbitrage opportunity

>> No.22422158

>>22422077
BTC futures for the same period are 0.5% above and closely follows spot price. You don't think 10% over 3 months is an arbitrage opportunity? Not even for institutional traders?

>A Bitcoin Quanto LINK/USDT futures contract has a fixed Bitcoin multiplier regardless of the USDT price of LINK. This allows the trader to go long or short the LINK/USDT exchange rate without ever touching LINK or USDT. The trader will post margin in Bitcoin, and make or lose Bitcoin as the LINK/USDT exchange rate changes.

>All margin is posted in Bitcoin, that means traders can go long or short this contract using only Bitcoin.

This reminds me of how banks are fixing gold's price using paper contracts...
A future contract should be a contract to deliver a fixed amount of Chainlink at a certain date.
This only serves to steal money which should be going to Sergey when he is selling Link for his nodes and to help fund his development costs.
