Crypto falls under a category for them.
Its hard to explain to anyone about investing alone. It isn't until after a few times you put some money into a "magic internet box" and more money comes out that you start really getting it. To the average person this is like a toddler crying because they think you took his snack away by putting it in his pocket. They don't want to be separated from it. Again, like a child that isn't quite eating something but they'll just carry it around with them wherever they go. Letting it get wet/dirty/uneatable whatever. That is how people are with their money.

People also resent this idea that they can make money without working. Even if they don't realize it. They want to live in a world where the value of their check is tied to the work they put in. They want everyone to be held to that same standard so they can look down on people who don't "work hard".

Crypto doubles down on all of this. 1. you tell them to give up their money, 2. for tokens that go up in value with no work, 3, with no clue how to do any of it or how even investing works. Its just something some characters do on their TV shows. and bam. 30% of the bloodflow to their brain is gone in and instant and suddenly you're the angry dad trying to take their wet dirty beef jerky stick from them or tell them to put it in their pocket and they don't like you anymore.

You can't help poor people. At best you can help them help themselves, but 98% of them are a lost cause. 99% will resent and hate you anyway if you're successful and help them.
If you buy a poor person a house, and it has a leaky window, they will grow to spite and hate you. Because "Surely if you were so kind to buy them a whole house you could fix a window." Crypto is volatile and therefore useless for serious transactions.
