I'm rich, I made it. I haven't worked in who knows how long by now. I literally don't know what to do with myself, I have no personal value system. I don't even spend my money because I don't know what to spend it on. I can blow it on dumb shit but then I'm left with this feeling that I should be doing something greater/more fulfilling. The thing is I don't even know what that thing would be. I don't value anything. What the fuck do I do? Life feels like a prison. I think I'm starting to get why rich people kys all the time.

Everybody needs productive goals to fill (this void) of empty time. Doesn’t matter if it’s dedication to music, art, family, work, coding, travelling, etc. The list is endless but without any pursuit, goal, desire to be the best you can be then life becomes meaningless. My main goal in life is to become a masterful artist, up until I started training intensely and dedicating much of my time to the pursuit of knowledge and understanding of art, I felt completely lost, depressed, hopeless, meaningless. But now there’s light and hope at the end of the tunnel, even if I don’t reach my goals then atleast I’ve died trying to get there instead of settling and giving up on my dreams like the majority of people do. Money will make your life a lot easier but it won’t make it worth living.

I should probably read more to gain new perspectives. I have a hard time picking hobbies because I'm not entirely sure why I value something over something else. So in the case of reading I'll ask myself what's the point of reading a bunch of books when I could just be fapping to hentai 9 hours a day. A lot of people who have a nihilistic worldview tend to not even understand why they do, I find. They can sometimes give some vague explanation about life being pointless because XYZ and science, but it's actually not a very philosophical approach to the question, you'll come to find. A proper plunge into philosophy will expand the way you think and help you understand yourself better, generally improve your life all round. Another guy above recommended Camus' Myth of Sisyphus, which is a fine start but not really the best to dive head first into cold, as it's a bit French and overbearing at times, can be a turnoff. Maybe watch some Youtube videos on Camus to grasp the basic ideas, especially his answers to the question of suicide. At the very least it should make you question the nihilistic plague in your mind a little. Questions like you just asked re: fapping to hentai or not are answered in great detail throughout the history of philosophy, in the abstract.
