So how bad of an idea is it to buy, for example, GME $30 strike January calls? Is there a liquidity issue in that if you try selling them during the squeeze, literally no one will be retarded enough to buy, or what is the issue here? Would a $20 or $15 strike be a better idea? I have experience with options, but nothing like trying to play a squeeze in this way.

Problem is that if it doesn't happen you'll have trouble selling it before expiration, should treat it as an all or nothing deal. Closer strikes are more expensive but are usually easier to resell to get back part of you initial investment

Every resource on 401k loans screams about what a terrible idea it is because YOU MISS POTENTIAL GAINS. I'm looking at my 401k asset chart and it seems ridiculous to imagine this upward trend continuing.

>continue normal contributions + repayment of loan over 5 years
>catch falling knives with loan repayments
>be in exactly the same spot or better in 5 years
Worst case scenario, the market goes up forever and I miss out on gains, but I cannot really see that happening.

I just did the math, I've got 40 years till I retire (tho Allah forgive me they will probably have medical technology boosted enough to wagecuck us until we're 75 by that time). With my current 401k contributions I'm basically looking at a very high 7 digit sum, if I magically took out 30k the difference over time is negligible, and it being paid back I'm basically right where I started, slightly +/- depending on how the market does.

I am almost shocked at how many resources act like a 401k loan is the absolute end of your retirement savings. Maybe the impact when you're older is worse. I think I might pull the trigger on this now before Bloody Tuesday is upon us, hold onto the money, spend more of my paycheck on rebuilding my funds while also using this money to do some real estate gimmicks I need to finish up and then just buying crypto, metal, stonks maybe, and a few safe plays I've got on the backburner. Hoping for a massive housing market dump in a couple years, this will be practical money for such a thing.
