1) NKLA jumped to 90 on merger & Hyliion is way better

2) The company is actually decent. I'm going to add it to my ROTH IRA long term. This company looks promising. They can easily branch out to different areas like Garbage Trucks like NKLA or School Buses like GREEN MOTOR POWER COMPANY and have Massive green pump days up ahead.

3) I'm in the logistics field and Tesla/Hyliion are definitely going to share the piece of the Tractor Semi 800 billion dollar pie.

You'll eventually get your money back. When, well who knows. Could be mega pumps ahead, could be nothing. The decent thing about your situation is it's not a single company that suffered a catastrophic meltdown but a leveraged fund into the leaders of tech. Imagine the scenario where Softbank sells, takes their profits, and stops juicing the markets. Huge win for them, and they walk away with a few billion dollars profit.
Then, without that additional buying pressure, markets are left at all-time highs with a drop in demand, and fall accordingly.
Perhaps people get a little spooked and maybe markets drop 20%.
It'd be possible for Trump to point the finger at Softbank for hurting his stock market, call them market manipulators to deflect from whatever the crisis of the day is, and send the SEC after them to investigate, which would be an embarrassment to Softbank and the Japanese govt.

Not saying that's even likely to happen, but they're playing with fire if they continue doing it.

>Dwyer is bullish, but not just because the Fed's new framework and massive U.S. debt loads likely mean 0% policy rates for many more years. There also appears to be a synchronized global recovery at hand. Things won't go up in a straight line - in fact, the current level of frothiness suggests a correction could soon hit - but Dwyer thinks investors ought to be ready to buy any dips.

>Dwyer reminds that the "market" of late is essentially a small handful of names that seemingly go higher each day. For much of the rest of the equity universe, it's been a bit of a struggle. He expects leadership might soon change though, with cyclical plays like energy (NYSEARCA:XLE) and the banks (KRE, KBE) primed to benefit from the global recovery.

>There's plenty more, including why the current period is way more like 2009 (start of major bull market) vs. 1999 (end of major bull market), the outlook for another fiscal stimulus package, and why zero rates forever might not necessarily drive gold higher and the dollar lower.

Yeah okay I think I'm mostly going to focus on leveraged index swings on this cycle. On March to August run went with specific commodities and sectors, which worked, mostly, but underperformed what I would have made if I had just gone 3x s&p and 3x nasdaq because I had insufficient exposure to the leading companies responsible for the lion's share of the run.

The entire part of QE is to POOMP through a deflationary part of a business cycle because previous QE makes it that much worse if its allowed to follow. So if you believe the Fed actually has clothes, than we are "right back" in February and energy is trash because its not a large or mega cap and OPEC fucked up everything in March.
If you think the Fed DOESN'T have any clothes, than deflation is a comin' and the first major plays are banks and energy because the first benefits from margin rates and the second has "captive consumer bases" (especially utilities).

ZeroHedge does some good stuff sometimes.
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/connecting-dots-how-softbank-made-billions-using-biggest-gamma-squeeze-history

>Of course, as we noted yesterday, despite being exposed as the fund behind the market's bizarre August moves, implied vol has yet to drop which means that SoftBank is likely still in the trade and has yet to take a profit...
>... or that dealers have not yet figured out a proper strategy to hammer implied vol. One thing that is certain is that it is only a matter of time before dealers, who were counterparties to the SoftBank trade and are likely nursing billions in losses (assuming they didn't delta-hedge all of their exposure) will do everything in their power to punish the Japanese conglomerate. And even if they did fully delta-hedge their outlier gamma exposure, now that the FAAMG rally has broken, the precipitous ramp observed on the way up is about to reverse as dealers start dumping the stocks they had to buy as gamma spiked, leading to a mirror image of the melt up trade. In short, while SoftBank may have made a 100% profit, unless it somehow unwinds this trade asap, it risks losing not only all of its gains but also suffer material losses that would eat into the option premium and would then also hammer the value of its underlying stock investments.

Incredible stuff

Is SoftBank literally the only reason why we have been seeing this bull run due to them sneakily trading options and goading retail into dancing to their music?

I've been wondering about this myself. That Softbank was part of all the options activity was obviously leaked from someone inside Softbank, and presumably leaked by someone who was unhappy with the hedgefund-subsidiary taking capital from the venture capital projects or whatever. But I can't imagine someone from inside would leak it until they get the cash out, at least from their calls?

Regardless I'm going to buy some more SFTBY this afternoon I think. Whenever they make headlines people overreact. The gap between the value of their assets and market cap is going to jump bigtime because of all of this (especially if they actually make billions on the actual deal in question), and I bet Eliott Management is going to want more of their fresh cash (from selling the telecom subsidiary) spent on a buyback because of it.

Jeez... it depends on the load of the virus you get infected with. If someone who is really sick, sits right next to you and coughs into your face, you probably get a huge load of the virus. Even if you have a "good" immune system, your body doesn´t have the time to adapt to the virus and you will get very sick and potentially die.

That´s the whole reason for the mask mandate. People will get infected (airborne infection etc.), but they won´t get as ill as they would be otherwise. You can see it in Germany, the numbers are rising, but most of the people don´t get really sick anymore.

It's a valid concern but the whole project started with like 4 billion I think, that's like <3% of the assets, while the news about this took the companies listing in Tokyo down 7% today. Even if the whole subsidiary just vanished into thin air with all the money, assuming the OTC has the same drop in the US markets today it would increase the gap between market cap and the companies total assets value.

There were days when there was bad news about WeWork last fall where the market cap of the company dropped by like 5% (of a 80 billion market cap at the time) over a week or whatever, but the VIsion Fund only put 10 billion into it at the time, and the Vision Fund was only 30% Softbank's money. The stock price reacts to news that's disproportionate when you look at the shareholder's actual exposure. But then look at how the value of Softbank lags behind the valuation of Alibaba with the Ant financial news pulling up the value- Softbank still owns like 25% of it, but the stock price hasn't risen like it ought to.

i've jumped onto the bandwagon too and yes it's a fucking pump and dump *BUT* we're all buying in right now precisely because the short squeeze hasn't truly started yet and short interest is still at a crazy >100% when a whale has finally joined in and is not gonna come dump this shitty company at a measly $8 per share. Pic related.

It might dip back down to $5 if Q2 ends up mediocre or if the entire market panics again (all the ETFs holding GME is both a good and bad thing for our play), that's the risk I see. I'm expecting we might see a -30% or -40% downside at most. But I don't care about that because I can't think of many scenarios where the short squeeze doesn't happen within the next 3 to 6 months. It seems to me that short sellers have fucked up and put themselves in a bubble that's going to pop soon and very very hard.
like I keep thinking to myself, it cannot be this fucking obvious and i'm falling for a trap, but i seriously cannot think of anything that could go wrong short of SHTF like world war 3 or the entire board dying all at once from covid or something else crazy.

Think about it this way, if you were one of people who shorted Gamestop this year, how the fuck do short sellers as a group even get out of this situation? How do you defuse >100% short interest without pumping the shares when potentially only ~20% or less of the float is being traded around? Gamestop has to go bankrupt very soon to save their ass, and all of us who jumped on the bandwagon have already done our DD and know that's not happening any time soon. These idiot retard short sellers got so cocky and thought they could keep shorting GME at these valuations. Maybe they thought the coming console cycle would be as shitty as the PS4/Xbone cycle, but they forgot to consider how revolutionary AMD is and that unlike the PS4/Xbone cycle, a budget PC at $599 is not going to outperform these massive consoles being sold at a loss. FUCK.

here. The guy who made an ecommerce niche from scratch (~2013) with Amazon in the game. Chewy is now worth over 20 billion. He knows his shit on making a decent e-commerce presence and making THEIR OWN large-scale fulfillment centers that can compete profitably against Amazon. And if you think about it, does anyone actually enjoy browsing for vidya shit on Amazon? No, you already know what you want to buy when you go on Amazon since their interface is outdated as shit and not fun to look through. I'm sure you can see how lucrative an effective ecommerce presence in vidya can be. speculate hard on a focused e-commerce, and it is true there isn't another retail brand as Gamestop with as much presence in vidya even if its impression right now is negative.

seriuously I welcome anyone to bring up any points on why GME might not have a short squeeze eventually when it might even be reasonable to long GME now.
I keep fucking trying to do DD since I'm terrified that it CANNOT be this fucking easy and obvious. The market can dump but it just delays the inevitabile since GME is already undervalued as fuck, the company is easily worth more than the market cap already.

FAGTMAN is still increasing it's market share, still essentially monopolizing. Why on Earth would you bet against tech? For what? Banks, oil, airliners, restaurants, cruise lines, gambling, resorts? We live in a binary case scenario; either the future marches on (FAGTMAN) or it implodes and we go back 100 years. In the first scenario you want to be holding TQQQ. Yes. Him and everyone else in the company. Don't try to ride the tail end of this pump, you're gonna get fucked. Look at the 3 months. Look at how little it moved even before covid. This company has nothing and used this pandemic as an excuse to make money.

>WSB refugees
i highly doubt it, if anything we might have retards here who check over reddit occasionally but I know a lot of normies irl who might go on wallstreetbets but still think 4chan is the """dark net""". Reddit-only retards wouldnt have the literacy to use the catalog if they can even find /biz/ in the first place, and if do get into /biz/, the first thing they will see are all the crypto shit filtering them out.

for how shitty /smg/ is at times, there are a few good points here that I take and verify if you know to sift through 95% of the shit. I wouldn't have seen this crazy GME situation otherwise or ever looked into fucking Gamestop of all picks if not for you retards. I also got shilled into TSM with the DD being shared back in June so I know at least a couple of your are smart.

i'd say wait and see about averaging down if you still have the capital. use the waiting time as an opportunity to learn from your mistakes and what you could have done differently next time. i held a position in a shitty biotech for half a year one time with an over 30% drawdown and eventually came out with a small profit. it sucked but it forced me to actually educate myself on how to trade properly instead of being a retard.

luckily for you you're not holding a shitty no name biotech, you're holding a fund of the leaders in tech. unluckily for you it's a triple leveraged fund, but still.

It has to go down either very significantly relative to your avg share price AND stay there / crab or it has to keep going down and only incrementally go up.
Also, all the theory in the world about why leveraged ETFs are bad long term holds have been BTFO by how they perform in practice.

i think TQQQ has a place in accounts that can't do options.
i had that impression too and had a position in TQQQ for awhile, but im a retard and didn't realize I was still allowed to do non-margin options in my tax-free account if i just mailed an application

either way, i only come here during the weekends or when the market is closed in general. only time there is any semblance of real discussion going on without the autistic screeching and reaction posting.

my point still stands though: WSB refugees or not, there is an annoyingly large segment of /smg/ that plays weekly options or bought TQQQ as their first trade "because they told me stonks only go up" or some dumb shit like pic related. it's really annoying how ADHD so many of these kids are, panicking like bitches. it's like they don't even realize that you get major tax reductions for holding for a year+, as if holding a stock or ETF for a whole year is like an eternity to them or something. it's like they don't see good stocks going down as a discount, as an opportunity. it's like they have no plan, no risk management, no FA or TA, just posts from strangers on the internet that they blindly follow.

the worst part of all is that at the end of the day they probably only have a $2k account or some bullshit. pisses me off.

I should have bought a weekly put. Thankfully, I have calls on XOM: Oil prices are going to moon very soon.

You would only be reading the posts from Divifriends. If you want to get rich, you need to know what the retards are pumping so you can flip the position.

$50k isn't enough to move into dividends for the income. It's pretty pointless if you don't, at the very minimum, have $500k. Even then you'd still need to have a job to supplement the very low income.
