I really have no idea what to expect Tuesday. On one hand we saw a nice recovery Friday afternoon and there hasn’t been any real news to trigger another sell off.
On the other hand the world economy recession is becoming more abundantly on the surface and people are starting to be a little fearful as we head into an uncertain election season which will see civil unrest and tensions continue to rise.

It's technically a no-no for him to try to send it as stimulus checks.

>So far this year, female managed funds on average delivered returns of -57 basis points compared with their benchmarks. All male run funds performed worse, with average returns of -164bp.

>“Even after adjusting for risk, female managed funds outperformed their male counterparts amid the coronavirus-related market swings,” said David Kostin, Goldman Sachs’ chief US equity strategist.

I think we lucked out on this one as far as what it could have been and how it will hopefully prepare us for the future one.

On the topic of tech. I think the trends in people using more tech services is positive. A lot of things have been grandfathered in that are inefficient but baked in. This kind of disrupted a lot of things and will lead to some long-term efficiency improvements.

Index funds have always been the enemy of hedge and mutual funds because it threatens their very existence. And while its bad that the money doesn't go into bonds, it isn't the fault of index funds. It is very much a failure of the Fed and fiscal policy that has basically forced investors, conservative and risky, to increasingly have to put their money into riskier assets like stocks to not be left behind.
As a backend to a portfolio its basically required unless you have so much capital already that you can go fully into muni bonds, art, real estate, etc.
You can complain all you want about underperformers like Boeing being cushioned by ETF zombies but this wouldn't matter if bankruptcy was ever a real threat anymore and companies couldn't pull a TSLA or UBER and go a decade without turning a profit because of access to stupid easy credit.

That's like asking what plane company is competing with Gulfstream or what pharma company is competing with Biogen.

Tesla sells fewer cars a year globally than F does in two weeks in the US alone. Tesla is a dwarf compared to VW or Toyota. Both companies now heavily investing to close the only moat that Tesla has, it's battery and ai.

Tesla is not a bad company, but it's not worth lmao 400 USD. It's a bubble and once the panic starts we will see a gigantic dip. When that will happen? No idea.

So what's stopping these companies from listing these cars in America then? "They could if they wanted to" is not an argument. There are key specs in most but not all of these automobiles listed that make these cars nearly unusable in america. I want to believe you know what they are but since you posted this in the first place, I don't think you do.
>Ford, GM
Nope, Ford and GM had over a decade to try and compete with them and take them seriously but instead them and the oil companies shorted them the whole time and have lost bigly in the long term on it. Import taxes. TSLA's entire business model has been to suck the tits off of all subsidies and then hide behind import taxes and mandates.
TSLA will be irrelevant in even the EV sector alone in Europe before we even get to 2021. Ford and GM just took their time because it isn't a feasible market without the subsidies but TSLA's massive overvaluation has made them want a piece of that.
TSLA's prospects are unironically purely going to be in China as long as the CCP doesn't get bored of them.

So, should we be concerned about inflation or deflation in the future?
To me, it seems like QE is being used to fight deflation and trying to encourage spending while reducing the burden of debt.
But there are people out there that we are looking at the Fed losing the battle to deflation due to foreign banks. That is why the Fed isn't necessarily trying to prevent deflation in the future but is actively fighting it.

I remember during March there was discussion in /biz/ about this. The conclusion was we either get higher inflation in the near future which will lead to hyper inflation. Or we will see deflation caused by QE which will bring us around to higher (hyper?) inflation when/if a normal or new normal is reached in the credit market.

Thats just an IRA. Tax credit doesn't affect retirement accounts. Tax credit means you can deduct up to 10k of losses from your income taxes. Right now you can only deduct up to 3k per year (but you loses will roll over, so you can deduct 3k more next year). Raising it to 10k would be big for little people because then there is less risk when they take losses.

??????
So would you prefer the country doesn't favor domestic manufacturing and let foreign companies run roughshod on the industry and take all the profits for themselves? These are what import tax prevents. GM/Ford pretty much let it happen anyway over the last 20 years by making inferior products compared to Honda/Toyota and more.
>EV Sector in Europe
This was always the 3rd priority of their 3 priorities, the European EV market obviously has the least growth potential and highest amount of pre-existing favorites in their market.
>it isn't a feasible market without the subsidies
because the subsidies are there for new EV manufacturers that sell below some level of automobiles, which these savings were passed onto the cost of the original Model 3. Yes Tesla bled these dry, any competitive company would and should.
The last two points aren't even worst conversing over since you're not informed on the matter.
>>22277883
The europe portion of this is mostly correct. Tesla will not be a player among middle to lower middle class europeans. The Chinese portion is incorrect as the Chinese do not spend their money the same way that Europeans and a portion of Americans do. Even if Tesla weren't the best EV in the Chinese market (it is, by a good portion over Nio, Li, etc.), there is an extra level of buying for the name brand that is not seen even in America aside the highest level consumers that would be seen in China due to the fundamental nature that most companies that do business in China cannot meet demand needs. This is why chinese knockoffs exist in the first place, such a small amount of companies meet the demand of China that they make their own crap to satisfy the demand. Once Tesla really gets their foot there, Nio and Li and whoever else will become footnotes.
