What helped me was I made a point to improve at least one thing every day. It may have been something small like "do 25 pushups", but eventually the small stuff builds up. I am 29 and in the best physical and financial shape of my life. My mental condition still suffers, evident in the amount of time I spend on a Mongolian underwater welding forum

When I first found /biz/ I was very poor. I am still poor, but I did the best with what I had. Hindsight is 20/20 and I obviously wish I had bought more LINK but I still feel a little more content considering I see normies bragging about having 10 LINK.

You will, as long as you want to. My middle 20s were plagued by substance abuse and spending time with a "bad crowd". One day I was recovering from a particularly bad hangover and decided I wanted to change and improve my life. I hated my job and hated being poor, but I didn't do anything beyond bitch about it. I still hate my job and am still poorer than where I want to be, but the place I am in now is much better than where I came from. I still drink and smoke pot, but I always make sure that I get my daily tasks completed and also that I learn something new. It is important to set aside time for yourself to do things you enjoy or else you will burn out, but every day you should work to do something better than the last.

Also remember that you are human. Days come here and there where I think "I did nothing with today", and that is okay sometimes. Just don't lose sight of your larger goals. Making it is a mindset

Another post hitting too close. I've been on a very similar path with the only difference I've quit weed and had a recent relapse with booze which I'm trying to not beat myself up too much. Smoking/vaping are next on the list and quitting cold turkey is probably the only option for me as moderation is not something I can practice. It's the burning passion of doing making it that still keeps me getting out of bed and trying to improve something every day
