If you make 1 million USD after taxes in crypto you would be far ahead of the rest. You could use that money to never pay for a mortgage again, become debt free and invest all of your income for the rest of your life. So why does everyone here pretend like 1 million is nothing?

because some anons here come from wealthy backgrounds, so they don't see the value in just 1,000,000. To be honest, 1,000,000 isn't enough to be a fat rat all your life. You're right you can cover a house, invest a lot of, and live comfy; but you're gonna need to work eventually unless you make sound quick return investments. You would probably have enough though to chill out for 2-5 years depending on how frugal you are with just a millie(post taxes, not pre taxes)

Because you're on a board full of fat ameriwankers that have never worked a day in their life and have very little understanding of money despite what they might say or think.

If you can't retire on around $750,000 (after tax) you're a fucking retard with no idea how to use money correctly.

I'm in the UK and hoping to cash £500k which is absolutely enough for me to retire comfortably at 31 and be chill the rest of my life. It's all about planning, and using your head.

Those who think you need like 2 or 3 mil minimum are retards that will need to be spoonfed their entire lives, which costs a lot of money. So for them retards, it's probably true 1 mil won't cut it.

Say you make 1 mil, it's enough to borrow several other millions at the bank and invest in several rental properties, and then be set for life, provided you don't intend to live like a king.

Yeh with 1 million you can either use boomer dividends (although this up in the air with the current clown market)

Or make earnings from growth funds, which is what I'd personally do from good active growth funds. As long as you are not a retard and budget correctly you'd be fine.

Personally, the anons on here who are like *lambo*, *waste money on toys* make me cringe. I sometimes wounder if any of those have ever actually suffered in waging or witnessed it first hand.

If you have, then your view on just being able to have a comfy life away from all that bullshit is heaven. I'm not a wagie run my own business but still, fuck that and fuck them.

>So why does everyone here pretend like 1 million is nothing?
Because a lot of people here are idiots. Simple as that. Also, a lot of people here consider "making it" to be endless lambos and hookers, so there's really no amount of money that's ever enough.
I can retire on much less than 1 million. But I think 1 million is a good number for most people. Consider a modest 4% return, that means 40k per year, which is a perfectly livable and normal salary in the western world.

1 million is tremendous amounts of capital to have debt free compared to 50% of people. But in terms of venture capital there's a lot of opportunities one can take to make $1b from even 500k

>> No.22269155

You need 2% to keep pace with inflation, but yeah 1M post tax should do it for neetville. 80% SPYD gives you 40K+ a year, 20% SPY to not touch and grow but sell juicy long OTM calls on gets you another 5-10K w/dividends. Should be enough; unless you want a higher prestige city, then that shit gets pricier.

Yeah that's the problem. To beat out inflation these days you need at least 8% yearly returns. Inflation is way higher than 2% now regardless of what the government tells you and that's without even including the expensive items they deliberately don't include like property, tuition, healthcare. 1m is enough to NEET comfortably overseas in a developing country like Ukraine or something if invested wisely in a portfolio. I think you need 1.5 or 2m these days.

Depends a lot on where you live, for instance, my country having 300k usd would be the equivalent of those that expect here to make it with 3 millions.
But still, I wouldn't believe such and even if that was my plan I would take the money that i made from crypto to buy or start a business, then save some and keep investing the rest. Only a fool would think any amount of money whatsoever means that you can live without worrying or doing anything. The world is always changing, look at boomers, their fiat god is betraying them, and they also had it easy.
That's pretty much what I'm going to do with the cash, I'll kickstart my life because I tried to go to college and be a wage but this isn't 1950/60 anymore, you need a lot of cash from the beginning to have the life others did before we were born and crypto just gave me the key to unlock normal life. I don't want luxury, I just want to get the dignity of having the life we all deserve, to turn effort into reward and build a decent life upon values that make more sense than the current.

You can and even with less if you play it smartly and not just plan to sit on your cash forever. Even if you had 100 millions no woman will respect a man that does nothing, and this isn't something you can dodge by having hobbies or anything else. Not to mention it creates an environment of toxic emotions in the long run, whether you are alone or with people. Nobody says it's enough but you will have to invest or run a business in parallel with it, while having a nice margin to enjoy the journey. You can always leave the US or Europe to a cheaper country where your wealth will multiply by 10x or more. Sure some places might look like shitholes but you wont have to coexist with the locals. Besides, all countries around the globe are going the third world route either way, no big difference if you are going to live locked in a private neighborhood or a mansion anyway.

You'd do well to allocate much more carefully or you'll end up losing much of that $1mil. AT&T for example has gone down over 20% just this year. You have to be ready for crises instead of just thinking about the possible money you could make. Instead of focusing on dividends (which aren't tax free where I live) I would invest in index funds, US government TIPS, real estate and gold/silver to provide protection against changes in the market. I'd put aside some small percentage for playing around with shares and other risky investments. Most of the money made would go back into the investments with the goal of my investments reaching critical mass. If I needed to make a big purchase I could always sell some shares.
>>22268155
I would maybe move to a place that offers annuities. The country I live in offers no such option for people who wish to secure their pension sadly. On the other hand I like my home country even though it's difficult to gain wealth here (high taxation yuck), and even though my investment options are pretty limited
