When you're buying shit coins that have the potential to moon why don't you just set a stop loss slightly below your entry price so if it dumps you don't lose much but if it pumps you have the potential to make a lot.
Is this actually a strat or am i being retarded?

Shitcoins have very wild price fluctuation. One whale can very easily dump and shift the price 10+% in an instant but such dumps are often immediately gobbled up. They are often manipulated by whales for this very reason: whales will dump a coin to make people afraid of a rugpull, others will panic sell/execute their stops, and then whales will buy the coin back up at a discount. Or, they'll suddenly pump a coin to encourage fomo, others buy in, and then they dump their appreciated bags, generating a panic sell off, etc. All of crypto is whale manipulation and a game of mental will, not of technical assistance.
