There's many people like this. I'm 25 almost 26 and I largely wasted my life being a sad neurotic mess, but at least each year I could genuinely say I was better off than the year before.

I was never more neurotic than I was 14-18. Those years might as well have never happened. 19-21 I smoked hella weed and wasted those years too, khv the whole time, but fuck it I felt good and secure in my youth.

Ever since 22 I felt like I was no longer a kid at all, but you know what? I hated being a kid. I hated having no one take you seriously. I hated how stupid everyone my age was. Now I have a decent job, and I just keep learning new skills to make more money. I'm trying to learn pandas n shit to get a nice data science job and make triple what I do now.

Just keep growing. At 25 I have the best body of my life because I learned to exercise vigorously every day even if its for just 15 minutes. I was more attractive to women 21+ than I ever was before. My neuroticism is mostly gone as I've learned the proper way to think and deal with the constant chaos of life. I have never been more optimistic about the future, even if most of my friends became mindless drones who would be content if the next 30 years play out the same as this one. Or maybe they're just resigned to their fate.

Look at business. It doesn't matter how awesome your business is if there's no room for growth, no one will invest in it. Even if you're taking heavy losses and have haters, people will throw money at your business if it looks like you have a lot more to grow. It's the same with people. Substitute money for love.

As long as you keep learning and growing, your youth is never over. You'll know when your best years are behind you physically, but like i said before I have the best body of my life even though testosterone peaks at 19-20.

Aside from physical states, which varies person to person and you'll know more about your unique situation than anyone else, being old is a state of mind. People who are boring and complacent are old their whole lives. People who are 17 but obsessed with getting into ivy league schools and pleasing the system will never truly be young and when they hit 25 they won't feel like they wasted their youth, but that they were never young.

The system is this stupid thing that people follow because it's the only way they can stay in the good graces of society. They don't have anything unique or creative to bring to the table so they just keep their heads down, and spend their weekends getting drunk and being idiotic like that's what being young is about. That is NOT what being young is about.

Being young is about changing the world. Being young is about looking every truly old motherfucker whether they're 30 or 60 and saying NO this is not the way life is supposed to be. The system IS NOT the highest principle to follow. It's being able to see the mechanicalness of it all, because once you're truly old you don't see or feel it like a fish doesn't see or feel water.

Being old isn't just the process of cell death or whatever, it's becoming broken. Because we're all born natural, we're all born from the real truth untouched by the systems put in place by boring old humans. As long as you keep that spark of life you will be young, as long as you believe that you can change the world for the better you will be young.

The darkest feeling about becoming old is you feel like you're ready to die. When I was 16, I was all of a sudden struck with this deep fear of dying of cancer. Every little thing from bodily sensations to weird stools I thought were a sign I was going to die soon, and it scared the shit out of me. I didn't want to die at 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. Not really.

Once I hit like 24, that fear evaporated. I'm not going to say I'm some enlightened person who can face death without fear, but I can't say I didn't have enough time anymore. The best thing about youth is you can chill out, whether that means having casual sex and partying or staying home and playing video games doesn't matter because the end result is the same. You put off doing something worth leaving behind in favor of fleeting feelings of (((comfiness))) that will go away seconds after they're experienced.

Once you're physically old, you lose that convenience. You know you may very well die soon, not just because life is uncertain but because at your age you lived long enough. The median age of an American used to be 24, think about that.

So with this realization comes freedom. You're not this fearful being clutching on to their life. You had your time to chill, and if you chill now you're truly wasting your life. Now's the time to get out there and do, because you have that responsibility. To make the conditions necessary for kids and teenagers to chill out, us "old" people have to put the work in. We had our time. If this doesn't give you a burst of adrenaline, you'll never make it.

It can be an event, or physical change. IMO my youth ended at 21 when I got a DUI and couldn't have fun anymore. Something like having a baby could also mark the shift. But it was really over around 25 when my hairline got fucked.

I'm sad that I never got pooty tang but partying in your teens is a MASSIVE waste of time. I had a huge group of friends that I would drink and party with. Sure, it was fun and I'm happy for the friends I still have. But I wish I spent that time improving myself and not destroying my brain.

The best way to live your youth is to work hard, get involved with activities outside of school, and find a qt girl to worship your dick. I think much more fondly about my time in sports than I do about the huge parties I attended all the time.

And honestly those parties just make you feel like a cuck if you're not the one getting laid at the end of the night
