I chose the speed up option on Metamask and paid the same fucking fee again and it went through in 30 sec. It probably fucking glitched or idk what fucking games the miners are playing. Don't even know if I lost my first fee or not, but whatever.

What is even causing this? I've heard a theory from an anon here who said that people using flash loans to arbitrage are using always the fastest gas to make sure they make money. I'm also guessing the defi yield farming scams and forks are really fucking everything up with people shifting from one scam to another chasing yields.

Pretty much. Whales are yield farming then getting out. Magnify that by 100x with plebs fomoing in during the "bull run" and you get gas prices. Gas had a high of $1 to $2 per transactions before YAM and all the bullshit happened.

Yeah, it's all those factors combined but mainly the yield farmers claiming their yields every day. This is much worse than cryptokitties.
