You've been wrong for the last 70 years you've tried to push this shit and you'll be wrong for the next 70. There are an incalculable number of factors that effect regional climates when one begins to shift. It's not so simple as "entire globe temperature go up gib tax money to fix huehueheuheueh" that you Al Goreites push. Paradoxical feedback loops exist. Green Sahara has existed during much hotter times than now because its cycles are much more complicated than your simplistic shit.

you know china would do it at the drop of a hat. key is hoping someone does it that'll keep around people other than themselves.

i think they'll see the problem with that method, though, as they notice how hard it is to get everyone to take the COVID19 vaccine.

only a third of the US population will take it within its first year, voluntarily.
getting it mass produced and forced into the paranoid's and third worlder's would be probably too difficult.

though, they could go with a lethal virus and a steralizing vaccine combo, so they get them at both ends, and it more quickly kills the third worlders and most paranoid people.

personally im holding because even if the squeeze doesn't work out, you have enough elements to speculate on a comeback with not much downside within a year.
Gamestop could go bankrupt in 5 years if they don't get their shit together, but not in the year where gaming just had a massive boom (like Animal Crossing sold over 20m+ copies last month) thanks to covid. This is also the same year that has a double console release. Gamestop's financials are actually not that bad and no one else in America has the same presence as them for vidya retail. Ryan Cohen has had great success setting up a niche in e-commerce even with Amazon, and i'm sure you can see how Gamestop is well positioned to make a comeback in that aspect (compared to starting entirely from scratch like Cohen did) if they improve their app before Christmas buying starts in full force.
also if Gamestop actually pulls off a short squeeze, we'll be saying in hindsight that they've been planning it out all the way since 2019 with their share buybacks and the fact that delayed Q2 earnings to Sept in the first place along with the coincidental timing of Cohen's SEC filing. Also another board member is buddy buddy with Cohen so this almost seems like blatant manipulation to pop the short seller bubble.

Is a short squeeze guaranteed? Hell no, remember that the market-wide dump just fucked us over. Doesn't matter how good the news is on Sept 9 if everyone is panicking and liquidating stocks as we won't be able to start a domino effect.
Would I hold Gamestop past November? Most likely not unless they convince me they're getting their shit together. $6 billion annual revenue means nothing if it's declining with no hope and they can't have a profitable quarter.

learn as you go. Like I didn't know what a short squeeze and short interest was until I've been reading into it myself until /smg/ was talking about GME over the weekend, also the fact that GME is actually nowhere close to bankruptcy despite my impressions kinda surprised me when I actually looked into their financials.

for how shitty /smg/ is, it's at least better than trying to learn while in an environment like Stocktwits (look at their GNUS page for example, full of delusional bagholders who FOMO'd in). Don't buy into a random pick that /smg/ recommends, always do your own DD first and have only yourself to blame if things don't work out.

I don't think, a lot of people will wait for the release of AMD's Big Navi specs before deciding what they're going to buy. Nvidia's RTX 3070 isn't out until October and that's going to be their big seller, the other ones have terrible value for the money.

*Don't just buy into a random pick
by this i mean that /smg/ can be kinda good as a source for tips, you gotta do your DD before you commit YOUR hard-earned money into it.

/smg/ was good to me since TSM is now my fav semiconductor stock.

no problem man, both are great stocks. MA is definitely #2 but it's becoming more and more of a 2 player industry as express shits itself. Having both is fine as they follow each other fairly closely, just depends if you'd rather dump the eggs in one or both baskets, depending on if you like the company you pick or the strength of the industry. Personally I pick MA (entered at $220) because of the marginally better growth than V but V is still a very successful company. I don't know when I'll ever sell but both companies are extremely solid.

It doesn't matter either way, AMD isn't really competing against the 3080 or the 3090 and they're mostly going after the 3070 sales. The extra performance matters only to people willing to spend $700 on a GPU and AMD never had much of that market in the first place.
