Do you own a business? If so, what kind? How did you start it?

If you don't, have you thought of starting a business?

I'm thinking of making a written guide and an app on passing the JLPT from theoretically any starting point, including 0 experience. After that I may be able to have a small "passing the JLPT" consulting business, like 1/2 hr to 1 hr 1-on-1 sessions to go over weakness the person has. It doesn't need to make me rich but it would be nice to get out of waging. I'm 20 and in college for what it's worth

I thought about it, researched it, saw the government is deliberately making it next to impossible to start up something without mentally and financially ruining you, gave up.

I have written an ebook on stocks, it is doing okay. Much of the success is going to come from your twitter and social media strength, not the quality of the content itself. Sometimes just have to get lucky too.

There are many course sites that you can use to host and create a course too. Same deal as above though.

Getting affiliates on board is definitely a good power move too

How do you mean?

Interested to hear what you researched.

I'll keep that in mind. Mind if I ask if you had a "launch" phase and if so how you went about it?

Would also like to hear about this

I can barely remember it from two years ago. there was a whole bunch of regulations and mandatory licences and insurance you needed to get, especially if you want to have employees.

I don't live in the US, but it reminds me of a louis rossman video about needing a permit just to have a lit store sign. Ridiculous.

It's more of a side hustle. I worked at a collectibles store for 5 years before getting a big boi office cuck job. Now I sell all kinds of collectibles on ebay. I actually learned a lot about the industry from working there and really enjoy it so it doesn't seem like "work" but I don't think I'll be bale to scale it. That being said an extra ~2g per month on average for doing something I enjoy is pretty sweet

Sort of, my friend is more of a marketing guy so he is doing nearly all of the social media work and marketing for a small cut of each sale.

We essentially started a twitter that he ran while I wrote, and when we launched we had about 500-600 followers. We are now focusing on standing up affiliate partners so we can grow the audience. Its difficult though, especially for newer people in the space

Was it a financial services company? If so, yeah those are extremely regulated. Many other industries though aren't nearly as bad

What do you sell?

I always thought about getting into the reselling business, but not sure if I want a bunch of inventory at my place.

No it was a computer repair shop, like Rossmann. IIRC, the main thing that put me off was cost. I needed planning permission, permits, insurance, and that was before I even open up. Then there was business rates, national insurance, employee liability, pensions, etc. Again all without counting the cost of the actually business startup or equipment. It was just too much and I never would have gotten a business loan for it, so I just gave up.

Mostly sports memorabilia but have recently started branching out into antiques, coins and really anything I think I can make a profit on.

Do you scour online trying to look for deals, and then resell it later?

Or do you have a more reliable source?

Im the only print Chad on this board. Ive been telling you guys how easy it is but nobody listens. Make $1000 a day and play Vidya and watch tubes with about 2 hrs of actual labor. The rest is watching the printer make me money.

95% online but I do randomly find things that are underpriced at antique stores or other places that I'll buy and flip. I have a few places online that I source from that consistently underprice their items. I also buy things for cheap in auctions and resell them and also get a lof of stuff myself for free. If I can't make at least a 50% profit on something after fees then I don't bother with it. I'm usually around 100% profit though on most items and obviously infitiny% profit on the items I get myself for free. Some things take years to sell though so patience is definitely key
