People seem spooked about USD because of Fed announcement of average inflation target over time and to expect rapid inflation near term. Crypto, as a volatile speculative hedge, is first to get liquidated in times of uncertainty and crashes along with stocks, continually nullifying the safe haven argument. Stocks disconnected from the reality of the total crisis around us, and (for now) buoyed by tech stocks and hot tickets like TSLA which is somehow higher mcap than more productive + profitable companies like Toyota. Where does the majority of money go when there's a perfect storm coming on so many fronts?

Am only a hobbyist in this area so eager to hear speculations from people who really know their stuff.

I agree with the part about crypto being liquidated first.
You seem to think however that it is difficult to have returns uncorrelated to the market. This is a fallacy since its rather easy.
Imagine you have a way of grading stocks. Take the top 10 in your lost and go long, now take the bottom 10 and go short. You know have long short equity with a beta of near zero which translates to being market neutral and solely is affected by the performance of the top 10 long positions. Any crash would cause your short positions to cancel out the lost money. For this reason stocks will not be liquidated, especially not with the inflation we are currently seeing.

To anything not tied to BTC price.

AKA Ampleforth.

Hold on to your shorts and prepare for a pumpening bigger than July's.

then why do my linear regression models indicate a very strong correlation between the bitcoin price and ampleforth market cap?

Sorry fren, ngmi. Ample fundamentals require a higher understanding than your linear regression models can provide

AMPL is designed to go up and down massively, its a coin made for active traders, not long holders.
