Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who had invested in MCO before their swap to CRO was announced.
I've seen this link posted on a few telegram channels.
Basically, a group of people have formed an alliance to go after crypto.com since the swap violates EU laws.
Check their website https://cdcalliance.com/ and join their telegram for more information: crypto_com_issues

Has anyone already looked into this or joined already?

Bunch of butt hurt whiners. Lawsuit will get thrown out, they will lose not only their coins, but the money they waste on legal fees.

what do you base this on?
the EU articles they refer to on their website seem fitting to me

It probably won't go anywhere but I don't hate what they are doing. Personally I have no real problem with them migrating to one token. I do think that we got an unfair swap rate and there is a reasonable cause to believe they suppressed the price with locked up MCO

crypto.com will be sued in the EU. If this is brought up to regulators, they have no choice to have crypto.com suspend business in the EU till it is solved

I agree that one token makes sense. If only CDC could have handled it differently, instead of delivering the mess we got now.
It's hard to tell what comes out of this. I find it interesting that even CDC have stated in their blog post about the swap that they may deliver additional CRO to certain swap program participants, over and above the amount of CRO derived from the official formula.

I'm from the EU and I still have some funds on there. So you're saying those could be frozen if they are hit by a law suit?
Not sure how far those guys are with their case but I might consider moving some more funds off the platform.

Yah Kris, exactly that will happen :))))

The swap would've gone fine if they'd notified their users beforehand instead of finding out after waking up. They could have also given all previous owners of the coin the equivalent amount rather than "grandfathering" them into the new program where they'd have to buy more if they want to unstake and restake later. There were arguments where if they did that then a lot of people would sell, but they've shown with MCO that they're willing to suppress the price when needed/wanted, so that shouldn't matter, especially when they own just under 83% of the supply.
