0xBTC is not the same as BSoV but it is still 1000x better than these pyramid scams. BSoV is based on ERC918 mineable ethereum token standard that the 0xBTC creator authored, so there is a shared history but not the same due to the active deflationary mechanics.

There was no ICO, no owner, it's completely decentralised, even Ethereum Classic, a near 1 billion mcap project, recently acknowledged the project by adopting its mining algorithm (see: ecip-1094).
