I really do like this project because it's one of the very few cryptocurrencies that actually does something. What a concept! This might sound trivial, but if past behavior is any indicator of future behavior, there will be many shitcoins with higher market caps that will fizzle. There have been so many broken promises over the years it's comical. Not that I frown upon investing in what you believe in, but there simply isn't a realistic market for all of these coins. The explosion of defi only amplifies this, there will be some winners, but the losers will far outweigh them.

From a certain perspective, it's good that the price action isn't flailing around every other day, it's built to gain traction over time, just like the crypto.com project. As the coin supply is finite and limited this is a long term hold and will reward the early investors the most if this project ultimately succeeds (obviously). Staking rewards are very good (12% is nothing to sneeze at even in crypto). Staking is the future of crypto. Also it's great to get a competitor in the card space as this will lead to competition which will benefit us. Binance isn't going away and can support marketing and the all important future adoption - this is extremely important as most projects fizzle.

As far as FUD:

The founders have primary control of the coin and can manipulate the price down to the nth decimal point. However this is par for the course in crypto and so far the founders have been transparent about it.

Many people want to compare this to CRO, but MCO was crypto.com's utility token for the card - the price action for MCO was basically a stable coin. However supply was limited & finite and the argument could absolutely be made that price was looking much better long term.

There is no 3% card and the price for the 2% card is ridiculous compared to the crypto.com card. They need to fix.

Is there going to be a Binance card as well? This seems very strange and counter intuitive.

This. Are you really going to (or have the time/funds) to watch the crypto scene every day? At a certain point you will get tired of these forums, checking the price of crypto gets exhausting, life happens, you'll move on.

The most money in crypto has been made by investing in solid projects hard, early and then holding (even when it goes up). This is Warren Buffett's strategy btw.

Trying to chase candles in whatever the latest crypto hysteria is is like day trading, statistically 99% of people get wrecked - of course you're the 1%. I would argue this a project that you hold and forget about *cough Hex too cough*.

Unless there is some sort of bug or scandal this one should gain strength over time. Sure there will be some volatility, but I think it will be limited, and when you're looking at crypto it's prudent to find projects that are immune to crashes more than they are prone to FOMO spikes. In that sense you still get the gains of crypto but don't have to worry about the crashes that this asset is so known for.

Look at the amount staked on the network, half of circulating coins. How price go up? People not selling. This is the definition of a comfort hold. You can FOMO in on these defi coins but how are you going to sleep - those projects are much more prone to volatility.

When bubbles burst people look for projects that don't burst, and as staking is implemented and with a backer like Binance this thing is basically guaranteed not to fail. So you have new investors flocking in for safe haven and a coin that has a real future with real utility, it's a no brainer.

True, this is probably my biggest gripe. However it's not unusual for crypto and there is a very popular coin on this board that is very similar. Bu with a finite/ultimately decreasing supply this is one of the only ways interest can be paid out. Other projects are inflationary and pay APY that way. No one way is superior they both have their advantages.

Also the US market (Binance.us) can't even buy SXP yet, and the app (at least for me in Cali) isn't open yet for purchases; once that is resolved you have the US market.

Another good reason to invest now is that cards are typically the least lucrative side of business for exchanges. Waiving fees and paying out interest on a debit card are not big money makers. Therefore I think they'll take their time shipping the cards so it's probably a good idea to order now. Crypto.com is notorious for taking an extremely long time to ship their cards out.

If you stake on chain you get more but you need at least 1000. Miraculously they don't have any stake locking mechanisms and can depart at any time (which is a double edged sword). But staking is one of the only ways crypto has found that can decrease the risk of crashes.

I'm terrible at math, but I believe on chain staking pays you about 6.6 coins a day @ 1000SXP with the current staking percentages:

20000/3000000 = .006
x 1000 (or your amount of tokens) = 6.6/day (24% APY which is absurd)

Can you give me a quick rundown on how on chain staking will work?
Do I have to collect my rewards every week or does it accumulate?
Does it get added to my staked ammount automatically or what?
Thank you

>Miraculously they don't have any stake locking mechanisms and can depart at any time
in the docs they say locking in takes 24 hours and unlocking takes 72

Pretty sure it gets added to your staked amount automatically, you're eligible to claim rewards after 7 days in each cycle

Eventually you get tired of staring at price action all day. Up down up down. That's where this comes in. You can buy and sell high risk garbage and get taxed 40%, or you can get in early and hold onto a project built by the biggest crypto bank in the world. And to top it off you get a card that pays you better rewards than any other credit card.

you have to interact on the eth network when you claim onchain which costs a fee. and then supply the earned sxp which also costs a fee. staking on binance costs nothing.
