I was a pretty early adopter of BTC. Had thousands in my life and spent them frivolously in 2012 and 2013.
Now, I'm not upset, life went on, I am successful. Own my own business (which has accepted BTC since 2013 with zero takers), my wife is an MD.
However, now I have extra money and I am back mostly for interest and learning sake and this stuff is now a shit show.

I read about the shit coins and their potential and I understand pretty generally what they have to offer etc.
But where do you all keep this shit straight? I have my own handwritten ledger of course for this and that.
If you want to play around with these early coins and speculate do you have to have a fucking 100 wallets all separte?

There is no one letting you hold any wallet you want in the same place? I only see places like Coinami offering like 10 wallets.
Also, none of them fucking exchange for the shit coins.

Now, I'm not asking to have my hand held through much. But someone please confirm. Is this a shit show? Or am I missing something?
All the services seem to be shit and by now I expected differently.
Pic related is me.

Think of bitcoin as the first frontier to the west. Now we are in the true wild west of crypto currency. It's a fucking shit show. Practically a full time job to play it all. Just wait for the nancies to get in it or some daddy's boy to get fucked over and you'll see a collapse and snap towards regulation, like with all things new. If you can handle your 6 shooter, can cut losses, can move onto the next train without getting depressed like a true outlaw of this currency wild west, then power to you internet cowboy. If not, do something creative you can appreciate with your capital that you can die happy with. God speed anon

Checking into it now thanks.
I am mostly concerned with speculation on the cheapies and some holds on the big ones as I'm sure they'll rise over 10 years.
But it's a bitch to get into any of the small market cap ones.

Yeah this is the answer, Metamask shows you all your ERC20 tokens in one place. Then just use a centralised exchange for non ERC-shitcoins.

Thank you. Makes me feel better.
I've been swamping around in my spare time for a couple months and the landscape seemed pretty rough.
If that's how it is, that's fine I can handle it and it actually, as I'm sure anyone here knows...keeps the brainlets out and leaves more room for us.

I agree with you there. I was mostly just hoping or expecting there to be some more centralized wallets that could be used as a temporary holding area for swaps and exchanges.
But none of these type of wallets work with anything but like the big ten.
I figured by now someone like Coinami would just let you hold anything there.
Then I'd as I said, use it for short term transactional storage.

Coinbase wallet gives you 10 different wallets to choose from. I keep it on my phone and it seems to work fine, and you're able to connect it to uniswap.

Why would you be proud that your wife is an MD? Sorry to tell you but that was a huge mistake, I hope she was at least a virgin.

Wait, did you marry a used goods career woman?

This is a low self esteem post.
I have been with my wife forever since before even medical school. Met in college. If you are intelligent you want to marry someone intelligent. Doctor is a serviceable position for an intelligent woman.
Not really a position for intelligent men anymore given the work environment and basically rule following one does.
It was meant only to give context to my situation and show that I have money to invest and really am just interested and want some advice.

Don’t put your whole stack in metamask anon.
There have been multiple software issues and successful hacks over the years. Do some research.
You need to at least have some in cold storage or a hardware wallet.
