Some of you are waiting for a dip on xDai's STAKE token. It will not come. There is no reason for this coin to dip. It is already massively undervalued for what it does. Basically ETH devs are begging for good layer 2 solutions and this is the ONLY thing that is 100% tested, battle hardened, and ready to go. Tried to warn /biz/ weeks ago that they would end up buying this at $50, you still have a chance to get in before that. This is the easiest 10x of your life.

Well 1 to 3 years might not be soon to most people but in software dev it's nothing. They have to spend the time to get it right or they wont stay on top.
It's not that long in the grand scheme of things. Dyor on how long it originally took to make eth, there is a podcast with vitalik and Lex fridman and he talks about the difficulties of the original eth implementation. Also I'm a dev, the reason I bought stake was because I was learning solidity and realised it is the fastest and easiest eth alternative.

True, they don't have sc, and they explain why they did not add it in a blog post. OMG is for payments, not for smartcontracts. OMG will take over the payment side. You can send ether and tokens on OMG right now. Also note that xDai is a sidechain, while OMG is a childchain, and consider the implications. You can easily search a post from OMG talking about sidechains vs childchains if you're interested.

I understand what a plasma chain is, and I know there are some good reasons for having one. However, there is a lot of value in being able to just move your ethereum smart contracts over to a faster chain. Hence, why this project has so much hype.

Its a scaling solution for Ethereum. Doesn't seem too promising because they were supposed to be ready a while ago. I think most optimistic rollup solutions won't be ready for a while and it seems like ZK-rollups were supposed to be a fix but people aren't rushing to adopt that either. I guess one reason I am so bullish on xDai chain is that it works in a similar manner to ethereum and therefore people are eager to adopt it. It's basically just ETH jr.
