My parents are 55 and 61, and instead of going to a good college (I qualified for top 20 schools) I went to a community college and was homeless, and had to work my way through for 6 years (because I was full time employed and couldn’t afford a full course load)

So while I was working full time, going to school every day, and sleeping in libraries/cars/couches, my parents were taking vacations, buying my heroin addict brother new trucks and paying his rent, and basically having just a grand ol time.

Now I have a house, wife, baby, and a good-ish wagecuck job, and I have no use or obligation to see them.

My parents at least did it because they had an enormous sense of guilt and responsibility for how he turned out. He ended up wasting every single opportunity presented to him, of course, but that never stopped them. They just assumed I would find success by default I think. Suppose I did, but fuck'em.
